CCM also had a Fastback series. In my neighborhood I remember a friend got a Fastback 500 for his birthday that was the coolest bike around that summer. Here's a photo of a purported Glider Fastback 100:
The appearance is about the same so I assume they have a common origin, from Raleigh, I guess. I could be wrong but I pretty distinctly remember the friend's bike as a CCM Fastback 500, not Glider Fastback 100. As I recall the Marauders were similar in appearance as well.

a little tangential, but didn't Centurion's Ironman start as the Comp T/A in its first year until Goodrich objected to the theft of the showpiece tire name?

I had a Schwinn/Chevy Corvette many years ago. Also had a Schwinn/Triumph/Supermarine (getting aeronautical here) Spitfire before that.

Sorry, it was the Astre that was the Vega twin. Chevette/T1000 was the other. Always get those confused.
Regarding "worse," the Chevette/T1000 were hatchbacks and Vega/Astre were mechanically identical sedan/wagon variants. There was less to go wrong with the Chevette/T1000 because there was less of it.
Special bonus photo: long dormant faux-woodie Astre wagon in the 'hood.

Oops...I thought that the thread was specific to deals between the manufacturers, or within the manufacturer (like Maserati, Bugati, Ferrari, Denali or the Jeep series of bicycles)... just the name similarities.
Lotus Esprit
Maserati/Rossin Ghibli
I think only Peugeot successfully crossed over (unless Austro Daimler and Mercedes are considered, but they carry different badges for a reason).

Bikes: Wow, where to start? A collection of 1980's and early 90's road, touring, and MTBs from the likes of Trek, Schwinn, Cannondale, Fuji, Miyata, Univega, Panasonic, and GT. It has gotten rather out of control.

Two more just popped up, based on threads in the C&V Appraisals section:
Huffy/Ford Galaxie *
Bridgestone Kabuki / Plymouth Valiant
* Interesting how so many "namesakes" insist on the Ford-originated misspelling. There's even a high-rise high-rent apartment/condo building down the street from me called the "Galaxie", same spelling. If Ford ever knew....
