5-9, 30.5” Inseam & Not a Flexible Dude. 52 or 54cm frame?

I’m driving myself crazy here. I’m 5-9 with a 30.5” inseam and flexible to my ankles or so.

Should I go with a 52 or 54cm Specialized Allez frame?

The 52 has a 90mm stem & 170mm crank
The 54 has a 100mm stem & 172.5mm crank.

What model year Allez? The recent ones seem to have 170mm cranks on both sizes. At your height you should be closer to a 56 than to 52. If you're buying from an LBS, they should swap out the stem if you need shorter reach. With a sloping top tube, standover height shouldn't matter on the 54.

No reason to go with the 52 if you aren't very flexible and trying to emulate a pro on an undersized frame.

Is that 30.5" from your pubic bone to the floor? That seems pretty short for someone 5' 9" tall. I'm less than 5' 7" and my biking inseam is 30.5", and my legs are relatively short for my height..

If your measurement is correct, I'd go for the 54 and negotiate for shorter crank arms and a much longer stem. I ride a 54 x 56 and use a 110 mm stem. If your legs are my size, you probably could use a stem in the 130-150 mm range. Maybe even longer.
