My Two Centurion Ironmans.

Bikes got soul, carisma, and maybe some feelings.. I dunno. Anyway, I took my two Centurion Ironmans outside to take some pictures. When I came back in the house, the two Raleighs that were downstairs, tried to fall over. I grabbed them!! WTF!! In other words, their feelings were hurt that I was showing that much attention to my Ironmans.. I guess tomorrow, I will have to show some pics of my 4 Raleighs..

I have a 88 Centurion Ironman Expert, and 89 Centurion Ironman Master..

They are in prime shape, and just been reworked, modified and a lot of love put into by Robbie Tunes, the Centurion Master Guru!! They have a combination of new wheels, rear and front derailers added to one, the addition of brifters on the Expert. Making both of these Brifter Wise.. I haven't even ridden them since the makeover, except a quick round the block shot. But, before the makeover, both of them rode like smooth butter. If the ride is better which I am sure it is, I might be in for a "pleasure attack"...

Thanks Robbie!!!

I will be adding two torch lights and computers to each one. One of them will get white clipless pedals, and the other one will stay with toe clips.. Now, if I get lucky and find me a red and/or a black Expert/Master, oh boy...

I was going to recommend that you remove the stickers from the wheels. Then I saw the tailgate on your truck. Never mind.

Love 'em. The cockpit on the Expert just oozes elegance. You remind me that it's time to snap some new pics of mine to throw up here in the C&V.

Yup, the Expert is strutting its stuff!! She is sporting Flight Deck Brifters, and some other changes in the drive train, along with new wheels..They both will be getting lights and a computer. I must say, they give up the joy in looks and ride..

Proud Papa!!

Ironically, I'm running the same SERFAS tires on my IRONMAN that you have on your teal one!

I'll post up as soon as I get some daylight to post pics. And you don't need all the marbles - that's why you have bikes with marbled paint jobs.

You running those wheels as 8 speeds with a spacer? I need a new set of wheels for one of my ironmans, not trying to kill the bank though.

The Master is the OEM tricolor group, upgraded to 8-sp with the simple addition of the STI shifters, chain, and an 8-sp cassette on the rear (8/9/10 freehub). The saddle is Descasalle? from afilado.

The Expert kept the OEM 105 calipers and crankset, Nitto bar/stem, seat post, but then the fun began. Ultegra STI's, 10-sp 105 FD, 9-sp 105 RD, 9-sp KMC chain, 9-sp SRAM cassette on the 8/9/10 freehub. Flite saddle. Those are Vuelta wheels, and they're pretty smooth.

PM me on some wheels, amigo...

I hate the fact that I am extremely jealous of you. Great looking rides. Just trying to find one for myself!

I am looking for a black on red/white one to add to my little harem.. .

These bikes are stone sleepers, I tell you that...

Keep a constant search on your local CL, that's a good way to come up with one...

Luck to you...

Not sure if I should be posting this here....But I have an 89 White/Gray Marble 60cm that I would be willing to part with. Has some rust on Top Tube from sweat(used a indoor trainer bike until recently). I'm in the Chicagoland area. Drop me an email if interested.

IMHO, Ironman bikes are the vintage bikes to buy. It's almost a cult thing with them. I've got one that I don't think I'll ever sell.

What is the difference between a Expert and master frame, components notwithstanding?
