I was about to respond to your one post, in another thread, about polling BF members on having driver's licenses, which the answer is yes, but then I was going to ask how many BF members have motorcycle licenses, again yes I do have one. I feel that testing for a motorcycle license is far closer to bicycling than testing for a motor vehicle license.

I had both car and motorcycle... but somehow allowed the MC to expire. I don't recall the situation, but for some reason I managed to let the MC endorsement go. Oddly enough, I was part of a special CHP trained group to test the efficacy of advanced motorcycle training.
And just to go one further, I have also taken bicycle classes, Road 1 and Road 2.

I've let mine expire, which was probably foolish. I was in an accident, my fault, a few years back and decided I never wanted to drive again. I'm not good at it, I don't enjoy it and I realized how many other things I could afford if I stopped paying for it. That being said, it's really not fair to my fiancee that she has to do all of the driving, so I'll probably get one again soon.
I had a motorcycle in college and LOVED it, but my mom, who never asks for anything, asked me not to ride one...yeah, I know, I'm a wuss.

Although I can drive a car I've never had a license, I have had three learners permits but I really don't care anymore. I find my mood changes in a cage for the worse.

Car and motorcycle.
My son got his license last year, when Maine had just passed expanded cycling laws, like 3' passing and multi-lane left turn clarification. Was pleased to hear during the driving instruction class that the instructor treated the new laws like any other and spent a fair amount of time going over bicycle/auto interaction issues without any apparent bias.

Yes, car and motorcycle, though I haven't been on a motorcycle for about 25 years. It's just kind of a pain in the ass to get the endorsement here in Michigan so I pay the 5 bucks every time just in case I need to use it in the future. If I actually had to get on a motorcycle again I'd spend some time training myself up.
I don't drive most days, but for example last week I was building a deck all week, and drove the van with a trailer on to the lumberyard about 4 times. I go on 5 to 12 hour driving trips 5 or 6 times a year on average, and other random errand type driving where it's either quite a ways or I'm carring more than 30 or 40 pounds of stuff.

Yes, and I have been citation and collision free for nearly 30 years now. The last written test I took I missed one question. It was something about how much is the fine for not wearing a seat belt. I still don't know... or care.

I seem to remember reading my province (that has a population of about 4 million) has just over 3 million licensed drivers.
To get a learners, you have to be 16 and our graduated licensing program means you have to wait 3 years (1 year learner, 2 years novice) to obtain a drivers license.
Eliminate this demographic and what you have are an awful lot of drivers. Not sure of the exact number, but there are very few people here in BC that do not have a license.

Yes, and it's an extravagance given how little I drive. About the only time I ever drive with just myself in the car is when I go on a business trip. Other than that, I could just let it expire and let my wife drive when we go somewhere together in the car.

I'm surprised at how many don't have a drivers license. Or maybe it's a self-selecting sample.

I have one, though I rarely drive anymore. I got a motorcycle license before I got a car license, at the age of 24. I still have two motorcycles (no car though) but they're gathering dust since I started biking.
