Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

But isn't that something you decide about BEFORE you sign up?

IRRC, he had medical training, no? Wonder how he did at that job...

Why is he permanently banned from BF?

It is a shame - an entire generation of new BFers, including ys truly, are being denied an opportunity to see genius at work.

Mods - you HAVE to unban him! The Force demands it.

It is very hard to get a dishonorable discharge from the Army. You can't just do one bad thing to get one. Most of the time even if you are headed for a dishonorable it will get changed to a general discharge in the end. The reason for this is because you might as well move to a different country if you have a dishonorable discharge as it is extremely hard to get a job with one even at McDonald's.

Because Razor (I'm not going to type his new full name!) is actually a fun guy to have around. At times he might be goofy like a kid brother, but he isn't a nuisance.

I'm betting RyanF did something pretty severe. The US Army is short on recruits, so they wouldn't toss out a guy that they had spent $$ training for a small thing.

He is likely recieving a Chapter 14, which is a separation for misconduct. He mentioned being arrested while on leave, and that would be enough for the UCMJ hammer to drop and start the separation process. Most of the time a solider separated under that chapter recieves either a General Discharge or a Discharge Under Other Then Honorable Conditions; depending on what they did to get in trouble. His unit will be deploying fairly soon and having been deployed four times myself, I can tell you leaders don't want people who have proven themselves to be asshats anywhere near combat situations. They are too undependable. Guess he will be getting plenty of time to ride soon.

I thought he was unbanned.
But no, that was his idol Cypress I'm thinking of.
In any event you raise good points - the part about a bunch of needless work on the part of the mods would make a lock seem like the easiest solution for them not to have to deal with sock puppets and flame wars.
Even still, it seems like most every thread I read these days has at least 1 **** post, regardless of the chances of a thread actually being locked.
