All kinds of fail in that ad
Hmmm
This ad has made me research old Cannondale catalogs at Vintagecannondale.com -- I thought they were making bikes much earlier but turns out they mainly made touring equipment (bags, panniers etc - ) for a while
Anyways - my observations
Should have a steel fork - frame is also junk , the kink in the seatstay makes it unsafe to ride regardless of who made it
Nice parts but pretty eclectic -- Campy post, dia compe brakes, 600 series hubs with a smattering of Dura Ace to round it out
Bikes worth what the parts are worth to someone - maybe $200

Cannondale was formed in the early 70's -- so building "one of the first" Cannondales in 1982 is a stretch.

Components and fork could have been changed many times over the years.
Frame IS junk due ti debt as you noted.
I am more focused on the Klein built assertion......
I re-posted in the "Classic and Vintage" section.......

The consensus was that it was highly unlikely Gary built that frame. The seller offers no compelling evidence whatsoever, so if you were in the market for it because maybe Klein built it, I think you can pass without worrying yourself too much
Oh, and if you want fresh opinions on this thread, you might add the link to the auction so people not familiar with the original thread can get some understanding. Just a suggestion.

Only way Gary Klein would have made a frame for Cannondale is if he had stamped his patent number on it.
