quick - which color Ionos ?
performance bike locally has one left in my size in TITANIUM color for $199 ( 2008 model year )
and performance bike website has Black / Yellow ( livestrong ) for $209 ( 2010 model year )
which one should i get ? i think titanium one looks a little too bland and the livestrong is a little played out.
what do you think ?
ps: my bike is navy blue / black carbon fiber / brushed aluminum giant.

ask for $70 off the 2008 model.
helmets aren't designed to last more than 7 years. more like 5 years under regular use.

yeah i was for the third time in the store today trying them all on and Ionos is in a class by itself with respect to overall quality. it has better vents, better pads, it has this half-skull cap for winter. it's just the best.

many things don't have a shelf life of more than 5 years.
And those are basically helmets and rubber parts.
exceptions occur when the storage conditions were perfect.

yes.
there's no reason to get a helmet from 2~3 years ago, especially at only $10 less than a brand new one.
because PBK, CRC and Wiggle all have 2010 helmets for that price.

jet black, so it runs hotter than any other color you could possibly pick.
also, you just missed a good rei sale.
but really, who gives a crap? match your frame, socks, pedals, and kit for ultimate levels of awesome.
or, you know, just pick one you like.

have you hit up e-bay yet to see what deals can be had?
as to the color, personally it is irrelevant. i have a rudy project actyum, and it is silver and white. bland, but it fits comfortably/securely, and keeps my head cool. pick whatever looks better, but I wouldn't worry about if the colors match your bike or not.

I have a friend who spends much of her time traveling to major cities of the world helping bicyclists with crash related brain injuries learn to speak understandably again. Guess what percentage of her patients in the last ten years were wearing bicycle helmets at the time of the crash? Nah, you already know the answer...

There is no reason to pay anywhere near list on the Giro Ionos. I got mine (brand new) two months ago for about $160 from an Ebay seller. Do a thorough search of the 'net...

ok its $161 and free shipping in any size and color for 2010 on eBay. i guess i should go with that.
i also narrowed it down to 2 colors. a blue-white:
https://www.giro.com/en-us/products/c.../#/blue-white/
that somewhat matches my bike:
https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-IN/...llections_id=2
and white-silver
https://www.giro.com/en-us/products/c.../white-silver/
which should be cool, match most stuff and have good visibility
what do you say ?

Personally, I'd go for the blue/white. An earlier post about the white/silver matching more is probably more accurate. I've got the black/carbon Ionos and I really like it.
