Aren't you guys reaching your goal way too fast/early? If you're racing in march don't you want to finish losing in late dec/early jan and then gain and maintain once you get there? Or are you trying to gain 1lb/month from now till march?

+1

I weighed in at 150.5 this morning, and I'm comfortable there as I haven't really started hard workouts yet.
There was a hard workout this morning, and I'm going to be making the pedals fly pretty regularly from now on - so I like where my weight where it is now.
5 months to lose 7lbs... I like my odds

Well, you want your weight to settle a bit. I actually prefer to lose a little more than I want to settle in and let my body compensate for the weight loss. If you're working out and eating after having lost weight, I've found that my body puts on some muscle pretty quickly before settling.

I'd just be careful that you're not trying to lose weight again in February. Not the best idea for your body.

Hida, I was 159.7 this morning. I'm looking forward to hitting 160. I want to be solidly there before thanksgiving so I can be even more solidly there after haha.

I personally lost the weight this time of year to see if I could do it, and find a weight range that would be light, yet still healthy. I had never considered backing off a couple pounds just to get into race form. Plus, I had a ride I was planning on doing, so it kind of worked out. Now I can use the stuff I learned from this experience towards when it really matters in the spring.

I added a weight loss tracker. I'm shooting for 1 lb by 04/01/2011.

I'm not sure I'd trust a pudgy nutritionist...

holding steady - lots of water and careful eating during the week. Let loose a little on the weekend. Down 2 more lbs at 172.5

if water had a flavor i would be sick of it but its working. heading out to Napa for a few days next week...

looks like it will not be a problem to hit my goal of 170 next weigh in - then work on settling into 170 and hold it for a few weeks

enjoy the spreadsheet its help keep me focused/honest

Going the wrong way but I'm not fretting. All the workouts I've been doing lately have been strength building.

Believe it or not, sleep and rest helps. It lowers your bad (stressor) hormones like cortisol, and raises your good hormones.

yeah that makes perfect sense, but i usually find that i am happy to break even on rest weeks.

its pretty funny when i look at a graph of my weight during base (jan-april) of last year and its i was doing 3 week blocks then rest weeks- and the weight was like down down down up, down down down up, without exception....

My parents used to say the same thing.

Actually the last time they said it wasn't too long ago.
