Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wahoo cadence - anyone using it stuck on

without the zipties? Looks neat, and zipties scratch the crank arm, but worried about it flying off.

I am using its ANT+ with Garmin Fenix 5. You'd better tolerate its lags.

You mean the Wahoo sensor is not as good as a Garmin?

I use the Cadence sensor on the toe laces/velcro strap of my left shoe. It works perfectly on the road, trail, or on the trainer.

Yeah, pretty simple. Or you could use an actual velcro strap.

Thanks, DCRainmaker!

My new bike didn't have enough space for it to mount on the crankarm whilst in the rubbery holder that zip ties on. So I just have the sensor attached to the crank arm with the sticky pad directly.

I too was worried, but seems to have held up. Only 500 miles so far but it's also been 800 miles on a car bike rack and hasn't budged.

You can also use a strip of old tube, stretched over the sensor and the crank arm to hold them rather tightly together. (You may have better luck with a 25-32c tube rather than a 19-23c tube.) Looks pretty slick. Can be difficult to mount, but definitely not going anywhere once mounted.

me personally, i used both with my Garmin Edge 800 and noticed that the Garmin cadence sensors (both the original one and the newer one that doesn't require a magnet) were more accurate than the Wahoo RPM cadence sensor...
