Naming your bike?
I have a cheap Triumph frame with new crank, bottom bracket and tires,
It's 26 inch MTB... Rides loud and compact.
Pedalling is hard as it is a one speed.
The thing is so heavy.
BUT, I am in love with it, which makes me think I had to give it a name.
So I called it "The Bastard".
As in, I'm taking The Bastard today.
Any body here give a name to your bike?

This has been the topic of several threads already, but yes, I do have names/designations for my bikes.
The Roadie (obviously my road bike)
The Mutt (1990s cro-mo 700c hybrid frame that has seen several incarnations)
The Goat (1990s cro-mo MTB with the largest tires I could squeeze on and very low gearing for use on the sandhill trails and other areas that are a little too much for The Mutt. Kind of a poor-man's fatbike)
The Beater (1990s Schwinn World Tour frankenbike)

I am currently trying to name my Fuji Sportif, Sportif has come to mind but don't feel right. Its red and white so Red could be, but still doesn't feel right. I thought about Snakebite but I really didn't get bit. Something snake would be good due to the fact that a couple of weeks ago there was a copperhead wrapped around the top tube, Yes it was alive, in our garage.

Another no here. To each their own, but I've never understood why people would give names to inanimate objects beyond those required to distinguish them from one another in conversation. So it's "the tourer" "the fixie" "the TCR" and so on, as far as I'm concerned.

Every time I havfe tried t name bikes, I have forgotten the name before it appeared on the bike. But two bikes were different. My signature Peter Mooney and my latest and its predecessor and inspiration. Around year two I was riding the Mooney when I suddenly realized the bike's name was "Pete". Not Peter like my brother, uncle and the builder but just Pete. It's never been on the bike but I have never had any challenges remembering it.
Jessica, my first fun and fast fix gear was a longer story. But once I realized its name was Jessica, it stuck. And is now painted on. Jessica, built around a frame hit hard by an SUV, inspired another fix gear custom built to do everything I think a road fix gear should do and also incorporating Jessica's ride. That bike was from the outset, Jessica J and is decal-ed as such.

I refer to each of my current set of bikes by their brand name. Cannondale, Trek, Fuji. Don't know what hell I'd do if I had more than one of the same brand. Don't think I'd be able to cope.

Can't say I name them, but I go by color rather than brand. 'the blue bike' and 'the silver bike'. Not sure what will happen if I ever end up with another bike of the same color, but I'm hoping to find out soon.

Had a few boutique bikes that had names rather than numbers, like Ocoee, El Habanerro, and Phantom. I wish more builders would do that.
I had one or two bikes that probably thought their name was "Jesus Christ!"

I generally haven't named any of my bikes but my new Co-Motion Cascadia does say Clark W. Griswold on the side and will be called the Wagon Queen Family Truckster (though alas they didn't have any in "electric pea").
