RS Judy Silver vs Fox 34 Rhythm
Hello,
I want to buy a new XC mountain bike to replace my 10y/o one. I can buy the same bike in 2 configurations:
1. With a dropper post and a Fox 34 Rhythm .
2. Without a dropper post and a Judy Silver.
Option 2 is 300€ cheaper and I think I can live without the dropper (I have been riding without one all my life and I'm not interested in really extreme descents).
Is the Fox really better than the RS?
I currently have a Suntour Axon RL-RC with which I'm extremely happy (and previously had a Manitou RS that was butter smooth but flexy that I also liked), and wouldn't want to buy a fork that works worse than that. I have never liked how the Reba feels, but have no idea if the Judy feels similar, also being a RS fork.
Thanks for you help!

They will both be great forks for XC riding. Will it be that much different? Probably not a noticeable amount. However, my only suggestion is that dropper posts are wicked. I can't say that they are necessary for everyone, but I would not ride a bike without one now.

If flexy was an issue, go with the Fox 34. Not my money to spend, but the extra 300 sounds fair for the upgrades
Also the better Suntour forks are great for the money, the lower models on cheaper bikes are what most get fixated on.
btw: which bikes are you comparing?

Ended up ordering the 8.0 with the Fox and the dropper. Now I'll have to wait a few weeks to get it.
