might need to add this to the "re-branded ALAN" list...unless XEGOS is already present.
Yes it's a high price for an early-model ALAN that takes 24" wheels (unless that's just the needle in a haystack you've been looking for).

can't crack the code on this one? even with name and signature! If it was closer, I would have bought it and figured it out from there.
Can someone please identify this bike? it is hurting my brain

custom builder Allan Wanta (that's how it's spelled)
a Hella great price for such a bike, assuming nothing's damaged
EDIT: looks like he does more restorations/repaints than custom builds, but my advice: BUY IT and then contact him for more info:

Nice detective work! I knew it was something nice. Very long drive ( tmnguuyen & I have discussed getting a "choppa") and not my size (need to stop with that) shared here so another BF'er can score!

I'd almost be tempted to go send my nephew (not that far from Pasadena) but he's got a job and I sure don't need another (bit too small for me) project...but sure is tempting!
Somebody local better go get it!

Not sure how high up the foodchain is this Nishiki but look like it has custom-stamped DOs and features that point to something from the ONP (Kawamura's high zoot shop) plus a lot of Suntour Superbe and Sprint!
My guess it is worth a careful look-see if you're near Houston!

I went and grabbed it yesterday around lunch about an hour after she listed it. Initially she only had 2 far away pictures so I asked for the closer shots so I could get a better look.
Turned out to have a Reynolds531 Zeus2000 fork with Campy drops, Rear Columbus stamped brake bridge, Suntour Superbe Pro cranks & seat post, Dura Ace brake calipers & levers,Shimano600 parts. Really interesting geo, kinda mountain bike-ish but very tight rear seat stays.

That's absolutely beautiful. I've had a few Nishiki's never this well built. The forged rear dropouts, seat stay ends, seat tube lug design, pump peg, hint at the higher end.

Very nice bike Just a smal correction, it use dura ace 7700 9 speeds because of the typical shifter, rear derailleur and crankset form and the gilco design is the same steel used by Colnago

I don't think it is Gilco. The frame sticker says it is Columbus "MS"
