WTB: Suntour 7 speed indexed rear derailleur

Looking to purchase a Suntour 7 speed indexed rear derailleur. Nothing too rough, rider quality is okay, just not bike co-op bin quality. Please check and make sure there isn't any slop, that's why I'm replacing my current one.

Prefer short cage and mid tier level or higher. That being said, I can't afford to buy superbe.

Thanks!

edit: Thread is over, found a derailleur elsewhere.

The indexing doesn't happen at the derailleur, it happens at the shifter mechanism itself.

You should also state which derailleur you are looking for, Suntour made quite a few. Most will shift just fine from 5~8, you just set the stops so they don't go over/under.

Look at the Cannondale on the C&V for sale thread. Someone is parting it out and that includes a Suntour XC comp rear derailleur.

I was under the impression that accushift is highly finicky requiring all the parts to be from accushift. Also, isn't the cable accuation ratio important? I know dura ace 740x doesn't work with 9 speed and later dura ace...and that 3050 accushift doesn't work with other accushift parts.

That's the pre-index model. No big deal?

Sun Tour did something in their dying stages, they changed from accushift to accushift plus.
Plus is fully shimano compatible the first isn't. They don't play well together. heads up.

True, i guess I should mention the freewheel and shifters being used. Suntour winner pro 7 speed freewheel, Suntour ipc 9000 shift levers in 'UL' mode. According to the infamous accushift technical document, these parts will work fine with a 7 speed Suntour derailleur.

I'm fairly sure I have a couple of possibilities in the bin, but both are short cage--likely 26t max cog. I'm also out of town until next weekend, so couldn't check until then.

Thank you for catching that. You do need the index-specific, Sprint 9000, Cyclone 7000 and Superbe Pro from the late '80s or other long cages. The Sprint 9000 is the best value imo.
With Suntour, it's not all about the shifter, unfortunately.

This thread is reminding me why I avoid suntour indexing even though I like Suntour derailleurs.

This has been a fun thread (when isn't it when the topic is accushift? ), but I was able to find a NOS/NIB a5000 derailleur for surprisingly cheap ($28 w/ shipping) on ebay. Thanks for the interest.
