Well I can fit a Continental 4000s II 700 x 25 on the rear but only on 700 x 23 on the front. I tried a 700 x 25 and it rubbed on the bottom of the front fork, not the brake but the fork itself. The tires were mounted on Compagnolo Scirocco wheels that aren't very wide.

I bet if you hit that with some paint polish like Meguiar's #7 that shine will really pop. I use it on all the old bikes I find and it does a great job.

The PDG series bikes are awesome, I have a series 5 that was one of my favorite rides, frame a bit small at 60cm though, was the largest they made. Found a 68cm Waterford Paramount OS frame, that fit me better, transferred all components to that, great ride but not better. Stuck with a mint 60cm purple splatter series 5 frame if any body interested.

Light compound...then a polishing compound...THEN a polish...finished with a Carnuba wax (like I use on all my cars and bikes). All this for only the paint. Chrome and alloy are done differently, using a special polish and then Carnuba waxed.

Wow
I have that bike, I tried to unload it last year after 30 years in storage, seeing this I’m inspired to clean it up. Suggestion on new tube and tires?

Be still my beating heart. Getting that for $30 is better than winning the lottery. Be good. Have fun.

Bike has gone to a new home as of a few months ago. To bad that I can't keep them all, but I do enjoy bringing them back to life.
