The Touring Store.Com
I'd like to buy the Ortlieb Back Rollers from this outfit for $ 145.00 free shipping, a great deal.
But I just want to make sure it's a legit company. Has anybody bought these from them w/o problems?

They only accept phone orders.

I can't speak about The Touring Store, but I have made several purchases and received excellent service from Bike Trailer Shop. Their prices for the Ortlieb's bags are a few dollars cheaper along with free shipping. (BTW- I have no association with this business)

Wayne at the touring store is very good. I ordered my Ortliebs from him, and he is highly regarded.

I didn't order from him, but he helped me with some issues I was having with my panniers. He is legit.

Last year I spent a good half-hour on the telephone with Wayne. I knew I wanted a steel rack and good waterproof panniers for commuting and short tours, but I didn't know much more beyond that and what I'd read on various fora. Wayne did exactly what my LBS does: finds out the rider's current setup, learns about their needs and desires, and recommends solutions. He was patient enough with me to go through my measuring chainstays and clearances and tell me what to look for in this, that, and the other thing. I thought about it and called back to order a Tubus Logo and Ortlieb Back Roller Classics, and he got them out right away.
At some point I'll want a front rack and panniers. I'll call Wayne.

Wayne is my favorite on-line retailer.
Wallingford is my second
Harris used to be my third, but getting them to respond has been difficult since Sheldon died.

Would you be interested in orange Back Rollers? I've got a brand new, still-in-the-box pair of orange Ortlieb Back Roller Classic panniers that I won in a contest, but I don't need them since I already have a pair of Ortlieb Bike Packer Plus panniers. I'm in the process of trying to figure out the best way to sell them so I can purchase a pair of Sport Packer Plus panniers to use on my front wheel for an upcoming loaded tour. PM me if you're interested.

Last year he said I could buy just the Lone Peak pannier clips to retrofit my Brand X (nashbar) bags.

Funny. Commuting is usually where I am to be found, yet I answered this one over in Touring...
Anyway: Touring Store = Top Notch. Paypal, free shipping, and personal service. What's not to like?

Excellent company, and personal service from Wayne.
When buying my rack he said that while is was a great choice for panniers, it wasn't a good choice for trunk bags (which I was planning on). He suggested an alternate. I went with it and couldn't be more pleased.
If only all companies worked this well...

One of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. For North America, Wayne has the best selection, price and responsiveness (phone and/or email) for Ortlieb stuff I found. I bought my Back Roller Classics from him and he shipped them the same day I called him. I'd order from him again without a second thought.

I bought a Lone Peak handlebar bag from Wayne. Quick shipping. No problems.

Thanks. But I wouldn't even order YELLOW (even though is good HI-VI for traffic) just because
is too "loud" and "sissy" to go into stores with it. So, I ordered BLUE.

Wow, all these comments and yet no mention of the free candies Wayne tosses in with each order?
If there's something I want on his site, I'm buying from him--even if a no-name site can beat his price by a few bucks.

Lickbike is the only place I've found that can occasionally slip under on price, but Wayne still comes out ahead after the free shipping.
And then there's the candy!

I ordered a decent setup (rear rack, rear panniers, handebar bag) from Wayne last Sept., and was a great experience. He is very knowledgeble, patient, and replies to inquiries very quickly. Not to mention he has great prices! Given all that, if you're looking for touring gear, I can't recommend him highly enough.

Great guy.
Wayne steered me to John at OMM when he couldn't solve my problem. You won't see that out of most businesses.

Got my panniers from The Randonnee Shop, for a few bucks cheaper than Wayne. Free shipping and I didn't have to call my order in, which is sort of a hassle.

$ 178.00 at the Randonee Shop ! No thanks. I ordered my Ortlieb Back Rollers from Wayne today, in BLUE color. Spoke with him and he seems very knowledgeable on touring equipment, although I won't be using my rollers for touring anytime soon but rather to get my market shopping and errands around town, also to carry my language books to school on weekends. I paid $ 145.00, free shipping.
Thank you for all the feedback guys, great help. I'm a happy camper...errr cyclist I mean.

I was really happy that Wayne had the anniversary "Whiteline" white BRC's even though he didn't have them on his website. I couldn't find them anywhere else in the country.

Wayne's awesome, spent about an hour with me on the phone and looking at pics of my bike via email to see what would fit. Plus he includes some candy with every package. I think it was butterscotch.
