Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

what causes the droopy face?

i see it all the time in athletes that do a lot of outdoor sports. beginning as early as their thirtys they'll start getting lines on their faces and their cheeks will sag. what is the cause of this?

-sun exposure?
-wind exposure?
-extreme temp exposure?
-combination of all of these?

please discusss

If I'm picturing what you're picturing, lack of body fat? Wrinkles and other blemishes could be from sun exposure.

When I lived in Boulder, I used to see a lot of middle-aged women who trained a lot. Most of them did not look that great with ZERO body fat (sunken cheeks, wiry neck muscles, etc.)

What the hell? Wiry women is where it's at. The sweetest meat is closest to the bone

Anyway, I noticed it myself, I think that you're maybe using the wrong words when you could be using 'gaunt' . I call it Lance face since he looks very low-fat in the face and lots of female triathletes have the same appearance. Personally I like me some athletic women, but nobody asked so

Poor diets high in cooked food and the fact that these guys constantly push themselves to the limit. I also personally believe it has something to do with sunscreen, that stuff messes with your skin in a bad way

I think it's just "hard living." I see it a lot with motorcycle racers as well. Serious competitors that are bent on winning and nothing else tend to stress a lot over training, racing, etc. The ones who have a lot of natural talent and are generally very happy, laid back people don't seem to have this problem.

For cyclists, I'd say UV rays have a good bit more to do with it, but I still think you will see it more on the face of a racer who stresses over winning than those who compete and really enjoy it, winning or losing.

Low body fat. I went into a high end bike/tri store yesterday. The employees work there so they also can train and are serious competitors. The women are hot. Swimming keeps a higher body fat than running or cycling

Cooking food creates A.G.E. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advance...ion_endproduct) its essentially what causes you to age. Sunscreen is a petroleum oil by product which is poison, maybe you want to "block the sun" with your poison but i chose to embrace it. Whats the other option? You might actually get some vitamin D and a nice sun tan?

So you avoid cooked food so that you can age slower? Yet you go sit in the sun for a few hours every day to get all leathery and increase you chances of skin cancer? Find some 60 year old person who tanned like crazy when they were younger, it ain't pretty.

Quel go find somone who actually ate healthy there whole life and never wore sunscreen, i think u'll be the one who is surprised. Its ridiculous that they actually got people believing they need a "sun block", think about that for a moment your blocking the very thing that gives everything life. If you still doubt me feel free to read the link I posted. FYI i don't have any risk for any type of cancer because i eat right

Why don't you tell that to my skin cancer? Then tell it to the 2nd and 3rd degree burns I get if I spend more than 1 hour outdoors in the sun.

That is the most dumb fack thing I've heard all year.

This does not change the validity of anything it said, the statements are easily proven and have been documented.
