Hello from northern Maine!

I'm spruce1 in Caribou, Maine where the cycling is glorious and the season is short. I love vintage bikes, grew up on a 70s Bianchi roadie that was fast and catty, and am attempting to refurbish it. It scares me-what if I mess her up? I ride a Schwinn Le Tour mixte now, and am searching for that hard-to-find light tourer from the early '80s. I have learned a lot from you all, and look forward to much more. Allez!

Welcome. Maine is one of my favorite destinations, but get there rarely.

Thanks much, Rage. Impressive bike collection you have. Wow...do you ride in Central Park? That was my go to workout place in the late 80s...

Thanks much bobwysiwyg, Up here in Aroostook County, we're more like New Brunswick, Canada than coastal Maine. Mostly boreal forest. It's worth a visit.

Many years ago, my wife and I honeymooned on Grand Mahan Island. There was a ferry crossing from Maine years ago, but they eliminated it. We had to drive north into New Brunswick then east to Black Harbor..... then an hour and a half ferry ride back down to the island. Enjoyed it all.

Oh my, it must be gorgeous out there. I looked at some photos of the island; it's on my "must go" list now.
