Road bikes are weak AF

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Are road bikes really 'weaker' than track bikes, if the only things that break on road bikes don't even exist on track bikes? You can't bend a nonexistent RD hanger.

Yes - if a track bike can go through conditions and remain functional while a road bike goes through those same conditions and does not remain functional, the road bike is weaker. If an added component is the most fragile thing, the overall package is more fragile.

That said, claiming they're "weak" is like saying a track bike is "weak" because it would also get destroyed in conditions it's not designed for. Stop crashing.

But at least the derailleur hanger didn't break.

Simply referring to earlier commentary regarding carbon. Although im not knocking it, I do own a carbon bike, but rather, a steel track bike would never snap in half like a twig like that. At least in my experience, I have never witnessed anything of the sort.

It's been grand but all things must end.
