Is there a doctor in the house?
So, Remco Evenepoel has a fractured pelvis and a right lung contusion from the crash yesterday. Is a COMPLETE recovery possible, or will he always have some sort of problems from the pelvis? Any lingering repercussions?
What chances does he have to be as strong a rider as he was before the injury?

Taylor Phinney had I believe worst issues and returned to good performance but never equal to his previous level. Makes you completely sick doesn't it? I hate it, to see such talent and dedication stolen out from underneath them. I feel like Remco still has time being young.

Well he isn't the first to have those injuries. Many others have fractured a pelvis and made it back to cycle at a competitive level with the rest of the pro's. Richie Porte is one example in 2017 stage 9 TdF. It's taken a while and he's been tossed around several teams since, but he is looking decent now. As good as he would have been without the wreck, I've no guess.
Froome had a fractured hip and femur along with other stuff and for one year after with trying to train with cycling restrictions due to Covid, he looks better than I'd expect. Sure he didn't do great in the Dauphine, but I was surprised at quite a few other's that fell out the back of the peloton on various stages and they didn't have previous injuries to blame.
It is tragic however. Though we can simply say it is the risk they take, we still need to look to see what can be done to avoid such.
