Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The SLT is super stable no-hands.

The Trek gets a little spicy if there's anything in the handlebar bag. Coasting is usually pretty okay but pedaling can sometimes induce a shimmy.

The Moto's headset needs some love and is a bit tight for no-hands to work well.

Also, what happened to the birds? There used to be robins hopping along in the lawn when I mowed. Now there are none. Either they've migrated south or they died.

Perhaps there was some ripe fruit around. And they were off eating it.

So closed 4 hours later than proposed. We had to write a check to cover last minute cost got the keys and left. We already had the van loaded up full with boxes and painting supplies, so we went straight to the house. As I am pulling the first box out of the car we get a phone call from the office. They did the math wrong we have to bring a check immediately for more money.

I think I invented new words, I don’t think I have ever been so angry in my life. Btw the office is 45 mins away from where our new house is, and it was rush hour at this point. Needless to say I got zero painting done today.

With the celebration all done, all I can say is, if I stuck to rule number 2, everything would have been fine.

There's no fruit anywhere nearby, assuming robins even eat fruit.

Sorry. Forgot I'm dealing with merika. Tell them you'll sue them for damages for emotional distress and hurt caused by their negligent incompetence unless they severely discount their fee. Suggest double the difference between the two cheques.

If I had access to a lawyer and spare funds I would. But I am just glad it’s over, and I come here to vent. I never bought a house before, heard it was a PITA but I don’t know what’s normal and what’s not.

It's actually the best metric to measure effect of humidity. Relative humidity is misleading.

Not really. But if you pick the right roads, you can avoid any traffic lights or busy roads, with the occasional 2-way stop at busy crossroads.

So, is air temp of 73° and dew point of 72° a bad thing? Asking as I get dressed to ride.

Maybe you could get going fast enough to create an area of low pressure behind you and cause the water vapor to condense

That”s pretty much what we”ve done the last two years. We ride it a few times, tears ensue, and it gets hung back up. This is an $8,000+ performance tandem. It”s not supposed to hang from a hook. Someone needs to exercise it regularly and enjoy it.

Also, I’m in the midst of n-1 for bikes. I’m at my lowest bike ownership since I started riding in 1982. One can’t ride forever and would rather clean up the inventory now rather than later.

I agree. A good bike like that should be ridden. If you can find a buyer that will ride it and love it, that is better than it sitting around.

Speaking of which, I have an old Rans Stratus recumbent I bought in the 1980's on a lark, and it's not been ridden in years. I don't think there is high demand for this type of bike, but maybe I should consider selling it. I have held onto it with the idea that if/when my back gives out (bad backs run in the family) I could use it. It's sitting in the crawl space gathering dust.
