Mongoose Dolomite

I am sure this has been asked before, but I am working on losing weight. I am currently sitting at 400lbs down from 425. I am 5’10” tall. I was wondering if anyone my size has rode one and if it is a good bike?

This is a pretty fair review

In short, it seems the dolomite is somewhat better than expected for a big-box 'BSO' (bike-shaped object), but not a 'nice' bike by any stretch.

The bike being heavy, and not geared well for climbing, might make it frustrating for a heavy rider. But if you look at it from the perspective of 'it's just more exercise', maybe that's OK.

Like all bikes for heavy riders, your #1 thing to watch will be the spokes. I assume this has 32 per wheel, that might be ok if they are properly tensioned so they're not flexing when they are ridden, because flexing just means repeatedly bend until it breaks.

Good work on your weight loss! I hope you get into a good groove with cycling as an enjoyable, healthy activity!

At the top of the forum section, there's a button that says "+ New Thread." If you don't see that yet you may not be able to post a new thread until you've made 10 posts. I don't remember if that's a rule for newbies or not. I know you can't post pictures until you've made 10 posts. It's an anti-spam rule.

Sorry, no idea other than going to a paint shop where they have the device that you put on the painted surface and it gives the formula to match the paint exactly. The cost of the paint might be cost prohibitive.
