Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oh?

Somewhere there's a picture of our Sharpsville house with snow piled by the drive. Maybe he had just been by?

We had the Denver city contract, which meant if the injuries were too great to actually sign a contract, DUI, hit and run, etc, we took it to the impound lot for a set price. The closest we came to corruption was the police letting us go to the hospital to sign a contract. Back then, we received $12.45 for a "pounder", and our accident rate was $50.00 and a buck a mile. It was worth our while to swing by the emergency room to get a private tow.

I believe mine pairs as I see not only the radar icon but also a headlight icon on my display, but I have never bothered trying to control or adjust rear light from my head unit. It’s so easy to turn on/off/adjust with the button on the radar unit.

Both my front and (radar) rear are controllable, so tying them together would be nice. The other thing is that, supposedly, with the ANT+ control, there's a fourth mode with the light off but the radar on - this would be of interest to me in group rides. Since Wahoo doesn't do ANT+ lights, I've never been able to verify.

Figured out how to get my Strava routes over, at least

The routes have to be starred/favorited, but if they already are, they need to be un-favorited and then re-favorited, because of course.

No, but I haven't tried - without the rest of the network it's a bit of a moot point so I never bothered trying.

If pairing it as a radar did not activate the light network try adding it again through “add a sensor” thing as a light.

it comes in handy for my commutes, which are partly on MUP. Turning the light portion off from the head unit on the MUP is nice.

Yup. I don’t know how widgets are accessed on the 530, but on touchscreen models swiping down brings light controls from which you can change light mode, turn light off, and cancel override when you want to turn light back to its default setting.

I’m not sure “breakaway” is a good name for a bike model, even a steel bike. Just saying.

I want to ride but I still haven't decided where. It's going to be 109 here today. It's already sticky. Not a lot of groups to choose from. One is riding coastal but it's a 65 mile drive to the start. I could drive to the closest beach and ride by myself (with millions of others and their cars and attitudes). I could drive up to 6000 feet and ride in the mountains.
I should hire someone to make decisions for me.

Granted it was several years ago, but I had couplers put on a bike I'd paid $100 for. The couplers and install cost $600.
But you're looking for instant gratification. And $2000 is not a gross price to pay for a bike.

And there's someone burning in our neighborhood. I reckon one of these puppies:
I'm having a hard time trying to picture what 100+ degrees of dry air feels like after sundown. I know what it feels like with the sun out, and it's scorching. And I know what 100 degrees feels like in humid air, and it's almost suffocating, the air feels like it's too thick to breathe.

But after sun down 100+ degrees in dry air doesn't seem it would be as bad as 100 degrees of humid air.

Not as bad but it still sucks. Here, we can have dry air and sometimes very humid when we get the "monsoonal moisture" as the weather girls describe it. If you look over the mountains and see those huge cauliflower looking clouds, you know it's humid.

I've been in Arkansas when it's 95 degrees with 95% humidity and it's a whole different level of suck.

Yes, go to your sensors, select the light and you can configure it there. I usually keep it on Auto. You can also hit the page up button on the main screen and it should list your sensors there

I've been working in the wood shop, having finally had a good night's sleep. I'm back inside checking the price of MDF, a newfangled particle board I've heard about. For the top of my bench.
