Speaking of DJ's and another segment of music that's online and not recorded media is some of the cool mash-ups that are out there where 2 (or more) songs are mixed in a creative way, like this mix of War Pigs (Sabbath) & Whole Lotta Love & other LZ classics

My walnut sized brain has not figured out how you post YouTube videos yet but check out black Sabbath playing war pigs live in Paris, 1970 I think, totally rocking and what the drummer does to his kit is almost cruel, he beats the crap out of it

I don't think Josie Cotton was in the same league as Linda Ronstadt, but she did rock the prom for Julie and Randy. I love the way she moves. Gnarly! She does a good job with the Ventures and Secret Agent Man.

I've been to concerts at Expo Idaho (Western Idaho Fairgrounds) and that is on a former horse track (Les Bois) where the stage is on the far side so if there is no video you have an ant named Pat Benatar but she is loud and it was free.

That's a pretty good analogy, actually. I suppose there's more filler on Sandinista, but there's also three discs.

And we're back. Must be winter again. Linda's version of Texan Roy Orbison's blue bayou is one of my all time favorite songs.
Also I had to Google Sandanista. The clash right? I only knew one song from them, rock the casba.

It's a fun album, but you need the context of their career to get some of the jokes.

Re-read some of this thread...I stand by EVERYTHING and regret NOTHING, except not seeing that Cowboy Junkies had already been dropped.

Anyone heard A Giant Dog? Super fun band from Austin, and great live. My favorite ever from the Lone Star State is still Joe "King" Carassco.

Also - couldn't we just start a new music thread instead of sticking it on one with musical white milk?

^^^ That's a lot of talent. Buddy Holly is in the holy trinity, Waylon Jennings is essential, Willie has an incredible voice, an incredible work ethos, and has made some amazing music, I absolutely love Beyonce...

Joe "King" Carrasco isn't better than your list, but somehow he's more to Texas to me.

Also - you left out my second pick, 13th Floor Elevators/Roky.

That's just a poor man's version of this song.

This is how the Butthole Surfers should be remembered:

I wonder if Linda Ronstadt ever did anything like this in 1978?
