Hands down, the best ride in Wisconsin, best food, best vibe, best cause, best routes (never the same year to year) is Bike the Barns.

Just sayin ...

Perhaps we should start planning for next year....

I'm doing a century on the 15th, doubt I'm up for the drive and then another....

Maybe

I am thinking of bagging the Dare and do RAW again. Last year I did both, this year they were the same weekend. I even read on the blogs that a decent many did DD not Raw because of the conflict. My guess is there will not be a conflict next year. Dare was 2 weeks earlier. The ride is put on by the Wisconsin Bike Fed. Great support, ride is lovely. They even have a 105 mile option.

I have a contact there, made while seeking support for the Scenic Shore 150 (Leukemia ride I have done for 6 years).

Just a thought?

175 miles or 105 miles? | Wisconsin Bike Fed

I kind of like the RAW idea, too. Anything with real support sounds good about now...

Anybody else notice that The Dare is back on, August 10th? Site says under new management.
Not knowing in advance, I'm booked with grandson daycamp duty, but would be curious if anyone knows who/what organizer is behind it.

Good to know. I might do it. I like the route and the date is good for me. Heck I might do it on a Cannondale, a Trek, or a Schwinn,

The Facebook chatter has already made it clear how difficult a marketing and PR challenge this is going to be for whomever takes over a sullied brand. I am one of those of the opinion that taking the existing web site and adding "under new management" with no other story probably isn't a good start. But there aren't a lot of great choices in this situation especially if you aren't sitting on a pile of capital to spend.

As I understand it, we're still owed a commemorative glass and a pair of socks from Sock Guy.

I would like to know more before I commit again.

I'm working on finding out who's running the show.
I doubt it's the previous director. Highly.

Unless it's Stewart, it will likely not be worth it.

My sister is checking. She said it's in the Richland Center area instead of Dodgeville/Mineral Point. I'm waiting for a couple of phone numbers to call.

My real concern is the DD becomes the fall edition of the HHH.

Ack.

One unique 'stupid climb" ride a year is all I want, if that.
I'll be very interested to see the next DD, route, etc.
I've heard it's going to be around Richland Center, which is nice.

I'll stay tuned from afar....
