There's a new Grouch in town.

Tuesday my son and (mostly) his wife produced a new potential bike rider. She's only 4 lbs 13 oz so I'm thinking she's bound to be a great climber. My son says she definitely has bike rider's legs. He should know something about bike rider's legs since he rode his first century this fall in only 5 hrs and 10 minutes.

You got your "grouch curriculum" all set up to teach "grouch lessons?"

Anyway, that's great news. Keep us informed.

Hope she's doing okay if she's only four pounds.

I think a pink bike with multicolor streamers might be in order in a couple of years.

I might not be the one to pick out a bike for this grand child. My son, being a cyclist himself, has already been looking at small frame road bikes.

Mom and dad are planning to take over our Santana road tandem. My son, a machinest, helped a friend fabricate a 4-link suspension for a baby trailer a couple of years ago. I think that he has his eye on that too. Even so, next summer might be a little soon for bicycling with the baby - we'll see.

Mom and baby are doing fine. Mom is an insulin dependent diabetic and needed a couple of extra days in the hospital to get her body chemistry back to normal. They're both home and back to the new normal now.

Pics required please.

Young Oakley is now 11 weeks old and That time has gone fast. Luckily he is my second grand child and is still getting spoilt a bit. Unlike Ferne who is still getting spoilt a lot.

I'm waiting to see how you mount the baby seat on the recumbent. Congrats. I don't know if this is your first grandchild, but I'm sure enoying the role of grandpa.

Well congratulations are certainly in order to you and all your family, especially the new mini-grouch. Glad to read that mom and the granddaughter are home and well. What a great Christmas present. Our son is a 23 Dec baby.

Nope, I'm a well experienced grandad. This is number 15 but every single one is special. Depending on how you count them I also have 4 great grandchildren. The whole clan will be getting together on December 26.

I would count them 1, 2, 3, 4

How else would one count them?

Congrats on your family. Is it expensive at Christmas time?
