The Colnago finally came home with me

I have been in contact with a retired ex-racer who won a lot races with his colnago Titanio bitube. Last year went I pick up one of his road bike, I seen this beautiful colnago frame hanging in his garage. He had to retired the frame due to a crack in the rear dropout. At the time he was thinking about repairing it, but it cost too much to weld that crack.
so it has been hanging it garage for many years, till now.
When had a chat last year about the frame and it has won him many races. Yet this is his trophy bike with so much special memories. I ask him if would be interested in selling it to me. He hesitated and said he would have to think about it. Recently he contacted me about finally time to let it go. Yesterday I adventure a 3 round trip to pick the frame. I also took a picture with the owner and his old buddy.
Its going to be a slow build for me. First I have to repair that dropout.
not sure if I’m going to used campagnolo or shimano durace

IIRC the problem with them is failure around the BB and the double tubes. Given it is a titanium frame, the right builder is needed for repairs.

I say go with Campy.

Since this bike is pretty special and has a nice pedigree, it deserves Campy. I think you'll be happy.

Pretty frame!

A very nice choice of frame. Nice story too.

I love Campagnolo so that's what I would use to build it.
