I guess I've been doing a 'fake commute', for a nonexistent job (covid layoff) for the last couple months. I usually lap a nearby cutoff route for 10-20 miles, and 30 once.

I no longer own a car and cycle only (2 ebikes and a Cannondale hybrid I try to average 100 miles a week on) and I am taking advantage of an opportunity. Just started as a tour guide for my local e-bike store and now getting paid to help host 2 hour group rides through my city. Of course, I did buy one of my ebikes from them but still getting paid to ride a bike is pretty awesome.

Today I tried to ride my age on my birthday. Endurance was there but quad cramped up at 35 miles and I limped home for forty, three short

I tried to get around 60 miles on Saturday. But then I had two spokes fail on me after about 35 miles. I guess I over tensioned a few spokes when I built the wheel. Well I nursed the bike to the next train station and took the train home.
did then 18 miles yesterday morning and 9 this morning. I am trying to run as many errands by bike nowadays. Working on recumbent tandem right now which I want to convert into single seater cargo bike. UI want to do a Costco run by bike.

This is awesome. Getting paid for riding. I would love to do that too.

Well, I just started back after being Covid un-fired.. re-hired...
Anyway.
Two days in, I've been able to get just over 20 miles on my little cutoff route on both days. I probably won't be riding every work day, but should be able to get a couple in every week, anyway.
I'm off three days a week, as well.

I find I'm missing the community feeling of the daily commute most. With everyone on different schedules now and working from home, it's hard to find as many bike commuters moving at the same time of day.
