Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pop quiz. Worth 50% of your grade. No room for the weak and the wounded in this class.

No problem. I've always done fine with pop quizzes.

Any Amazon rec for thermal bibs? Have a gift card in hand, and cannot trust all of Amazon's 4.5 star reviews.

Oh yes, back at it for a 30 miler this weekend. Supposed to be cold. Meh. Sidenote in the market for a +1 on the bike; some kind of 40-45mm tire gravel variant.

Broke up a dog confrontation this evening. Was hanging out on my back deck when I heard animal whimpers and growling and people yelling. Went out front to find that one dog had clamped its jaws around the mouth of another dog and was not letting go. Remembered reading that hosing mating dogs is a good way to separate them. Went inside and got my Nalgene bottle of cold water out of the fridge and returned to the scene. A couple of good splashes to the snout did the trick. Got praise from motorists who had stopped to watch the whole thing as well as the owner of the aggressor. The other owner was understandably too distracted to thank me.

No specific recommendations. But I do advise you just get cheap tights and wear them over your bibs/shorts. I have two sets of tights, one is cheap running tights, good for temps above freezing. The other is fleece with wind block panels on the front, ideal for 20’s. If SUPER cold (under 20) use both.

Finally recieved my gp 5000s. My first set of 25mm wide tyres. Hope this wasn't a mistake.
New lock ring for the front disk showed up today too.
Thanks to everyone that helped on that one, this modern bike tech stuff evolves way to fast.

I read a few days ago. That the 2020, S works Rubaix with axs Red. Is $17000.00 ......
I may have to go back to Chineseium bike products.
