Help Identifying Bianchi, worth?
Hi all! I'm new to this forum, but I really like bicycles and always wanted a decent vintage road bike.
Unfortunately being 6'4 and still in college don't have a lot of money or options.
Found this Bianchi online, I'm not sure what it is a "non-celeste bianchi piaggio"? Seller says its from the 80's and I tried to include the pictures they provided. Price of $300.

Canadian models are a little differnt from ours so I haveing trouble figuring out just what it is. However I think it is something like our 1983 Special with Mangalloy frame and fork. I don't think I would pay $400 for one though.

I have a very similar model that I got at the dump, last summer (don't take that as an insult - lots and lots of cool old bikes show up at the dumps that I frequent). I hope to get a hundred dollars for the bike in "as found condition". In this case, the bike is complete with some cosmetic issues and a taco-ed rear wheel...
The bike pictured looks to be in good condition. If it is road worthy (meaning that you can test ride it and, hopefully, sports new lubricants) and safe to ride, then the $300.00 would make sense to me, depending on where the bike is located. If in a really strong market, $300 would be a good deal. In a weak market, like where I live, $100 is reaching a bit.

The subject bicycle is a mid-1980s, Canadian market, Japanese manufactured, upper entry level, Bianchi Bici II. They were typically Ishiwata carbon-manganese main tubes mated to hi-tensile stays and forks. The derailleurs are SunTour ARx, the crankset appears to be a Sugino GT and brakes Shimano Z-series. Claimed weight was 25 lbs. At that frame size, you'd need to be ~1.85m to ride it comfortably. Condition is average. The asking price is basically the original MSRP, so I'd pass.

Thank you guys so much for your super quick responses and help : ) . I think I'll probably go for this bike; hard to find that many vintage touring bikes that fit 6'4 riders. I'm going for a test ride soon, what are some things I should check for?

Be sure and check that the stem and seat post aren't stuck they look to be the whole way down to there low points.
