The last car that I had anything close to a carb was a 1989 Ford Escort that had a fuel injected carburetor or at least that was what I was told when I had to have it worked on.

I don’t know crap about cars anymore but I do know how to sync a set of SU carbs by ear. 👍

You share a birthday with my 18 year old grandson who was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis at 13 or so. We went over, put his presents on the front porch, rang the doorbell, backed off 10’ and then sang happy birthday when he came to the door.

It's called throttle body injection. The throttle body, the thing people think is a carburetor, holds one or two injectors which spray fuel into the manifold. I have seen an aftermarket set-up with four injectors in the TB.
Now we have direct injection. High voltage injectors spray fuel into the combustion chamber under 1200psi. What could go wrong?

Hey, @datlas. My wife is having asymptomatic PACs or PVCs by palpation, several a minute. She's healthy and fit, but totally stressed from trying to manage and save her group practice in the midst of this chaos. Should I make it about me by panicking?

Nope. Ignore. Cut caffeine and stress management. If it really starts to bother her she could take a 1/2 metoprolol succinate 25mg daily, as long as she does not have asthma.

Fun fact: metoprolol succinate is one of the few "XL" medicines that can be cut. The absorption is attenuated by the drug itself, compared to the shorter acting metoprolol tartrate.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. She hasn't noticed anything and feels fine. She was hypertensive for a few years, back when she wasn't exercising, and has kept on checking her BP. The BP machine told her she had an "irregular heartbeat" and I felt her wrist.

We will hit 41°C today and tomorrow, and have been at or above 38 for quite a few days. Our Coronavirus cases continue to rise. Yucatan ranks 4th highest per capita in the country. Hot weather doesn't seem to be the panacea some have hoped for.

Ectopy is almost always benign unless the burden of PVC's is huge like >10%, if that's the case and it goes on for YEARS it can lead to a cardiomyopathy.

I would not worry too much about it. What does she do for work??

And now I will venture out for my daily visit to the other property, a five minute walk away. I've been going at 5ish, as things cool down a bit, and feel like I"m in grand central station. I imagine that won't be the case now.

There's a brand new episode of "Funky Electrical Problems From Your 2011 Chevy Colorado" that aired this morning.

Driving in to work, I had no turn signals at all indicated on the dash. No aural indications of the lights switching on and off, either.

I parked my truck and turned the key to the "off" position, and nothing happened. The truck kept running and everything stayed on. I cycled the key to "on" and then back to "off". Worked normally.

At lunch I went out to check to see if anything was actually happening with the lights on the outside. Turned hazards on, all four corners lit up properly.

Switched on left turn signal, left side lights flash.

Switched on right turn signal, left sight lights flash...

Likely have a sticky contact somewhere in the switch. Possibly in the ignition switch as well? At least I have a project for the weekend though

Electrical problems are always fun to diagnose, especially when they're intermittent. Also, note that this is another GM ignition switch issue.

OTOH, I must give kudos for dropping an "aural" in casual conversation.

Nothing against any lurking pharmacists there....but on a daily basis I get SEVERAL messages from pharmacists stating the patient's current (and longstanding) medicine is not available due to backorder/shortage.

That's it. How about telling me what CLOSEST medicine they have that insurance will cover?

No. So I either have to call them to ask that, or play "read their mind" and order what I think is the next best choice. Often times insurance won't cover that. Or it's backordered.

Sigh.

Intermittent electrical problems are a recurring theme with this thing, frustratingly enough.

Had the wiring from the "door open" switch on the driver side fail twice, about a year apart. I checked my initial repair and it was fine, it failed in a different spot

I have an intermittent ground somewhere around a junction box that will cause the AC/heater fan blower to be intermittent. It's favorite time to fail is, naturally, on the highway on a hot or cold day with no good place to pull over and jiggle it until it works again.

Now turn signal switch and ignition switch issue.

Truck has 110k miles And it's on it's second engine.

I hope she is eligible to get one of those small business payroll loans from the feds that turns into a grant if certain conditions are met. We have applied for them. Fingers crossed we can all survive.
