Chain noise?

Guys, I found it a bit bothering to ride with noise from chain, and I have a hard time identifying the issue. The noise is definitely related to the derailleur. It does not seem to be related to one specific chain link (if so I think the noise would be periodic, but I am not sure)
When I wind back the chain (when the bike is not moving forward), I did not observe jumping chain links.

Any suggestions? This is a new chain and I cleaned the cassette before putting the chain on. It was my first time replacing a chain and I am wondering if I did not tighten the rivet enough.

From your description I can tell one thing: your drivetrain is making a periodic noise.
Chains are frequently noisy if they're dry. Add your favorite chain lubricant and see how the noise changes.

Try some more troubleshooting to isolate the noise. Putting the bike in a stand and turning the pedals lets you watch the drivetrain closely.

Maybe you are half way between gears, so it is almost changing a gear, but not actually changing. See how you go adjusting it.

If your old chain was very worn it may have worn the cassette to the point where it does not mesh well with the new chain. If chain lubrication and a slight derailleur indexing adjustment (leave the limit screws alone) you might need a new cassette.

Perhaps when you installed the new chain you passed over a projection on the derailleur cage rather than under the projection. Sorry about my lack of terminology. The projection I refer to keeps the chain from jumping off the jockey wheels.

If it's a constant noise I'd think adjusting the cable to keep the chain in the middle of the cogs will do the trick. New chains are lubed so that shouldn't be an issue.
If the chain is jumping then a new cassette is needed if there's a clicking then I'd look for a sticking link or a pin pushed too far in one direction on the chain links.

I did that once

Noticed it after a few hundred yards due to the noise.

Did you size the chain to the old chain? Got the right chain for the number of cogs you run?

+1 on the chain threaded through pully wheels incorrectly.

I don't see a description of the noise anywhere. Here's a guide to specific noises and some possible fixes I have used successfully in the past:
