1991!? Can we slow down please.
I will always remember ogling the RB1 in Bicycling when I should have been studying.

Ha! Yeah, you won't see anything newer than 1991 from me...... until next year.
I cap these articles at 30 yrs ago for C&V.
But even then I swear I can feel vibrations from some far off grumbling.

I just can't get the Bianchi Grizzly at $1,300?!

Well equipped but that's the priciest offering they had that year.

Wondering if you have the specs page for the shoguns? Missed out on your download link - would be much appreciated!

Yes, I'm sure I do, but I'm on vacation as I write this and don't have access to the file. I'll post it in a couple of weeks here, April 20-ish.
However, if I don't that means I forgot so you might have to remind me.

Bridgestone CB-0 = HOT. Hybrid
Whoda thunkit!

Our CB-zip is from 1987 or '88 (I think). It has served my wife (lightly) and my daughter at college. Sat for a few years, and now wears a baby carrier for her children.

With only minimal maintenance, maybe it is HOT.

The Equinox and Project 7 (700c mountain) were pretty spendy too. The highest priced bike was actually the fabulous Proto adorned with the Century Finish Record group.

We sold a few of the Alfana and Virata models but never stocked the others. It would be interesting to see important numbers and the actual full price retail sale of these top line bikes compared to the bread and butter models

SpeedofLite - the Gary Fisher page, please. For my '91 Supercaliber, a X-Country racer.

edit = ooopps = link above.

1991 Fisher SuperCaliber = $1049, mine was $799 in Las Vegas late that year (I think, but maybe '92).
Still nearly 100% original. Ridden by me, raced by my teenage son 6 times, back to me.

what's interesting about this is that it seems things aren't really that overpriced these days, there's a Ti frame on the first page for the equivalent of $5,066 2022 dollars. a high end carbon frame costs about that much today, ditto some really nice Ti frames. $4,500 in today's dollars for an SR2000. hard to compare since Al frames aren't top of the line any more, but i'm guessing a $3,300 CAAD13 would blow it away in every objective measure?

This link works, but is having difficulty downloading. I guess we'll wait and see if it goes. Thanks. Great stuff.

Hi SoL. Hope you enjoyed your vacation any chance you’d be able to repost the link to the full catalog?

Thank you. Riding in Texas Hill Country was long overdue.

I did re-post it on 4/18 after I returned, but that link expired.
