Yes, I missed those and I think you are 100% right on that! Good eye.

Does "vaporride" mean it was sold? Is there a big market for Eclairs?

Someone may have stripped the original group and installed this group as a way of combining a unwanted frameset with an unwanted group that was simply convenient to install.
I didn't think the Athena and Chorus stuff from that period was that far off from one another. I mean, wasn't that Athena more or less just two year old Chorus parts? (again, a genuine question). I see what you mean about 7-speed though, as that does seem particularly desirable.

I know there's some here who love the old Cannondales, especially the touring models. Here ya go:

Cannondale ST600 Touring, the seller says it's 60cm, but it looks like it could be 58. Looks like they've kept it updated and running well except that the chainrings look a little worn. $280

Chorus 9-speed is a big upgrade over 7-speed Athena. Infact, 9-speed Chorus is a considerable upgrade over 7-speed Record.

Lotus enjoys a cult following, as do touring bikes, and the Eclair was the second best touring bike offered by Lotus.

Nothing there when I clicked the link today, so vapourware, or in this instance, vapourride?

Right, but isn't that like a 5+ year jump? What are your thoughts on the 8-speed stuff?

Yes, I've delved into the Lotus stuff a little bit. They were a Long Island company (management, of course, not production), which I like, and I'm more than happy with my two examples. Even had a fellow Lotus rider stop me on the street once, after yelling "Hey Lotus!" at me.

Speaking of which, not bad for Columbus SL and such good condition: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Legen....c100005.m2219

Screaming deal, Miyata Ridgerunner for $100. Looks like it's original except for that god-awful stem/handlebar combination. 18" frame size (I would've grabbed it if it was 19.5"!!)

Did anyone see the Centurion Pro Tour without the wheels in the Seattle Craigslist? I went back to look at it again and the listing is no longer there, maybe it sold.

Not that I need another Pro Tour, but if the price is right...

Yes.

In fact, campy could have held time in place as far as 9 or 10 speed Chorus (alloy or CF) is concerned.

Exceptional gear.

Except the rear derailleur pivot bolt housing. They're just slightly more durable than thin glass.

Everybody's favorite brand, austro daimler. It was difficult, but I think I have deduced from the crappy ad picture that it's a SLE model, so 531 tubes.

The SL-E has butted 531 main tubes, is not full 531. One step down from the full 531 Inter 10 of the era.

It ain't cheap. But it is orange.

1973 Atala Professional, apparently owned by seller since '75. $600
...Looking at SN, might actually be a '71?
