Local vintage collector in PugetSound parted with this frameset, I'll add the bits.
Hugo Rickert touring frame from 1959. Originally sold from Ted Ernst's shop in S.Cal.
Hugo was a one man shop in Dortmund Germany for more than 4 decades. Reportedly, His wife did much of the lug lining and tried to help him braze, after a stroke left him unable to continue his craft. Many medals won on bikes built by Hugo, most not wearing a Rickert logo.
A perfect fit for me, 60X58 with 17 cm headtube.
Hoping for 22 lbs with vintage 10speed stuff.
Here it is with my wheelset, brakes, saddle, etc. mocked up for sizing measurements.

My 2009 Specialized Langster Single Speed has become my favorite bike for solo rides since swapping out the drops for bullhorn bars.......I just make sure the hills and headwind are minimized for my 60yr old legs

1992 Cannondale T600 - stock everything except for trekking bars and combination brakes / shifters. This turned out to be a mistake (caused some wrist problems due to pronating my hands on the wide handle bars)( so I am going back to drop bars and either bar end shifters or brake hood shifters. The bike is solid and bulletproof. It reminds me of my 1998 4Runner.




Late 90's Eddie Merckx 7-11 Corsa. The paint was original 7-11 but was very beat up so I had it professionally repainted and I upgraded the wheels. A really sweet, fast bike, but a bit twitchy. I am considering next steps with the bike, I might go with a different color and then change wheels / tires to soften the ride a bit.

Very odd saddle position. Also, my Corsa is as even handling as can imagine, the least twitchy bike I've ever owned maybe.

Do you think it is too far back? I do struggle to get comfortable on this bike. Sometimes I feel I am too far forward and going over the handlebar.

Honestly, it appears that frame is a bit too small for you. And I don't think that moving the saddle forward a bit and going with a longer stem will help. At that point your knee may be a bit too far ahead of the pedal. Sweet bike and I know it hurts when and if you come to the conclusion that "it just doesn't fit". Been there and done that a couple of times. Good luck.

The fit does look odd but it's hard to say without seeing you on it. You ever consider different bars? You could try some short reach shallow drop bars and move the levers down.

Not quite riding it yet. Will be for randonneuring, general road riding, and perhaps some gravel. 2x11 with a 46/30 11-28 or 11-30, tubeless 38mm, mechanical/hydro discs, dynohub lighting.

I'm 66 and have an '16 Giant Escape 3 as my everyday runabout and just recently bought an older Giant OCR 3 road bike for longer rides on sunny days.
The OCR is quite a bit lighter & faster than the Escape, but it's not burdened with fenders & panniers.

My 2013 Fuji Absolute 1.4 I actually replaced my Specialized Roubaix Expert with this! I just find it more comfortable, better shifting and better/easier braking. The latter is probably due to my weakened grip strength in my left hand and wrist. I've added the saddle seen here plus grip pin pedals, Ergon grips and so-called ergonomic bar ends (Giant Contact). Really love this bike!

picked up a look kg 131 old carbon fiber frame earlier this year, built it up and was riding it hard but fell in love with an ‘88 nishiki olympic steel frame. built it up with campy potenza and slapped some conti gp 5000’s on it. can’t stop won’t stop riding it.

I really like old Treks especially the ones from the late 70s. These bikes were low temperature silver brazed. The 1979 510 is a full Ishiwata 022 bike; good stuff. These are parts I'd been saving for a build because I like them a lot: campy tipo hubs laced to superchampion 58 rims, suntour vx gt rear derailleur and suntour ratcheting downtube shifters, suntour winner 6 speed freewheel, sugino AT triple, shimano 600 headset, and shimano 105 brakes with cane creek aero levers. I wanted an old school look with all silver parts. The Dupont Imron paint job on those old Treks is as tough as nails. I'm running 700 x 35c Marathon racer tires on this. I was happily surprised that tires that fat would fit on this bike. I like the pedals (MKS lambda) but I will swap them out eventually. They work well for riding around town which is what I've been doing lately.
