Hello Charlie,

I don't have a fix route, I plan with Ride/with/GPS and OSM Cycling map, if possible I stay 100% off road, no tarmac, no cars please. I also do not use any GPS tool to save for Strava or similar pages.

a nice source for the place: Montes Universales, Serrania de Cuenca for cycling you can find here: https://montanasvacias.com
he has the route online and many explaining words.

anyway, all Spain is fantastic for off road touring, MANY MANY gravel roads everywhere.

best regards Stefan

Does that trestle make close to a 180 degree curve? My daughter rode portions of the Trail of the Hiawatha, but she must have missed this, or just didn't mention it to us.

No. The trestle up above in the distance is a different one. They way the route snakes through the mountains makes them seem closer than they are. There is at least one tunnel between the two. I did west to east, so I was going uphill. Most one-way riders start in the east and get the shuttle back up. That one day took me from ID into MT and then back into ID.

Can't believe they recommend only 350 lumens for the St. Paul Pass Tunnel. It's 1.66 miles long and completely unlit, and there are draining ditches on each side. I had a freshly charged 500 lumen light and would have liked a bit more.

Were you riding just west of Morgantown PA in eastern Lancaster County? Looks like my home 40.

Indeed. I’m planning Pittsburgh to Philly starting the Saturday after Labor Day. Last night spent at Red Run Campground.

Damn nice picks Doug.
Happy Feet enjoy your trip.

Both of you guys are making me gear up for a tour. NY has now allowed Marylanders back in Bike touring up there or maybe another canoe trip through the Daks, hmmmmm. First I am off for gravel grinding in W. Va for a week, return for a bit then off again to NY!

I'm envious. The Icefield Parkway is one of the most beautiful routes I've ever ridden. Have a good ride, and I am looking forward to your pictures

Thanks!
You guys got me going when you posted about canoeing a while back. That was my backup for this summer, but I dumped my bike on the ice in early march, and tore 2 of the major tendons in my shoulder. I'll see the surgeon in October. We will try to do a short bike tour in September. Where are the Daks?

Have a good ride down in W. Virginia, and stay safe.
