A Good News story...

Okay, this is only slightly classic and vintage, but I think a bit of good new is in order there days, even if it is OT:
Washington Post: His bike was stolen in Virginia. His response was to collect bikes to fix and give away to people in need.

That really is a great story. It is very rewarding to help someone out and this guy “gets it”. My mail carrier at my shop usually shows up about the time I am returning from my lunch ride. He noticed that I am always on different bikes, all vintage racers. I told him I have a collection of bikes that I have bought and fixed up. He said he had bought a Schwinn LeTour new in the late seventies but hadn’t ridden it in twenty years or more and after seeing me ride would love to get it rebuilt. He wanted to know how much it would cost and I said nothing just bring the bike to me and I will refurbish it. The feeling I got when he picked up his bike and the smile on his face was priceless. Not near the level of this guy but helping others get their old neglected bikes back on the road has been very rewarding
