I didn’t get to get out today, overslept and had yard work to do this afternoon. Hopefully I can get 40-50 in tomorrow. I feel lazy only doing 5 rides this week

Got out for a ride with a few members of my crew and a few from another. It was an easy ride, but I was running late, so I had to hammer the 8 miles or so to the meet-up point and then, when I finally peeled off and headed home, I had to deal with a pretty serious headwind... so, uh, yeah, it was a polarized ride.
In exciting bike schwag news, I had a 20% off coupon and REI dividends burning a hole in my pocket, so I picked up a Wahoo Tickr Fit this morning. It's an optical, HRM armband, so I reduced my manboobage by a good 40% with that move, which is nice.

Well, I guess I left it all on the “road” in the fake time trial I did on Thursday. Bad heart numbers for two mornings straight and I am tired after my easy 45 today.

Looking at that bike, and then at mine, you can see the issue with old style bars and levers - set up according to canon, the ramps slope down, which isn't really comfy. So you turn the bars so the drops are pointed at the back axle, and the levers are pointing down the road! I think I managed a good compromise with the Cannondale, using an old TTT Forma.

That's just crazy....
I Cary 2 tubes. I used to Cary 2, co2 cartridges, and 2 tubes, that was pretty silly. I have a frame pump on each of the main bikes. A while back I got caught out in the rain, I managed to get three flats in about a 5 mile stretch. Luckily a bike shop was at the end of the stretch. Not so Luckily they charged me $12.00 for a tube. Dicks! Haven't been back to that shop since.

I s'pose I should post a pic of the Cannondale, having mentioned it.

one flight away from getting home. Itching for a ride. Daughter had her first official horse back riding lesson today. Went great. Amazingly she will follow instructions when it comes from the horse instructor..... Me not so much.

I like old bikes, but I miss absolutely nothing about riding them.

Finished up the trim work in the basement today. Had to take a couple days off.
The vaccine kicked the poo out of me. I got the shot on Wed. by the afternoon I was already feeling ill. I didn't sleep well, by Thursday after work I was sick. Friday not too much better. Dont really feel to great today either. Tired and lethargic. I am trying to gather myself to do a zwift ride.
I start moving out tomorrow. Daughter and sil are coming to help me with the bigger stuff. Then we are going to go out to dinner.

My wife and I had a small front side wall gash on our tandem today. It only took a $1 bill to boot it, not a fiver or tenner.

I went to the club ride start and the only ones wanting to do the ride I wanted were the 2 speedsters I rode with last week. We set off to the corner of the valley to climb out but it was raining so we went a different way and caught up to another guy we know and headed into the Santa Monica mountains and dropped him off where he was to meet another rider..
After a while I told the others to go ahead because I would slow them down too much on the climbs. They did but they encountered another woman we know going the other way and they were chatting so long that I caught up. We stayed together (sort of) for some more climbing until they suggested going into town for some lunch.
The ladies went inside to order and I asked for a scone. She bought me a giant pannini instead. Of course, I ate the whole thing and struggled on the little climbs afterward. 2 weeks in a row someone has bought my lunch.

I just checked the leaderboard. Looks like we have a pro who infiltrated our ranks and is atop the leaderboard.
edit: on further review I suspect an addictionite’s Strava picture and username/tag line has been hacked. Will let him know.
