Yes,Bath is a beautiful city - it was about 1980 when I first moved to Somerset and visited Bath for the first time. It's become a victim of its own success over the last few years though; unlike Bristol, Bath just isn't big enough to absorb the number of visitors it attracts, especially in the summer season, and it can get unpleasantly crowded. The Clean Air Zone that's recently been introduced will hopefully make it less busy by keeping coaches and HGVs out of the city - the charge has been set at £100 per vehicle per day, and based on my visit (a single visit admittedly, not a large sample) seems to have had an immediate and considerable effect.
Haha, I never flew with Laker's Skytrain, but a few friends did - from what they said a couple of pints before the flight were required. That said I had a flight with TAP in the early 80s on a 707 that was an experience.

I took my third ride of the year this morning, just about 30 miles into the more rural suburbs, specifically to Lincoln Center and back. The vehicle of choice was the PF10, nee PFN10 but no longer sporting clincher tires, hence the reversion to the original name.
A locally famous biological landmark in front of the Lincoln Town Library.

It was a treat. You might have ridden by and seen me but not recognized me because I'm a year older than I was this time last year.

42 miles and 4300 ft of climbing. There’s a section in the Santa Cruz mountains between Saratoga and Los Gatos that is lightly traveled. It makes a great weekend ride. Plus there a short section (2 miles) of dirt to test out the bike off road. I couldn’t resist taking a picture with the pay phone in it (top of the hwy 9 climb).

Took advantage of the once-monthly Silent Sunday on South Mountain in Phoenix. On the 4th weekend of the month the Summit Road is off-limits to vehicular traffic from park opening to closing. This was the first time ever I was able to grip it and rip it on the descent - which was an amazing thrill.
Some pics:
7 miles to the summit, 1500' of elevation gain. A short 14-mile exercise during which I unfortunately lost a chainring bolt. Gotta get a replacement before the next outing!

Too nice not to ride, so pumped up the tires on the Serotta for its first outing of the season. Also my first ride in short sleeves this year.
I quickly realized that when first building it up I borrowed the wheels from my Frejus Tour de France just to have something to roll on, rode a few times, then hung it up for the season. The TdF has a half-step setup, so isn't really appropriate for the Serotta with its 52/42 chainrings. No matter, it was still a great day for a ride.

They actually expanded the event in 2018, and now every Sunday is Silent Sunday, at least until 10 in the morning. And really, for most of the year, you'd want to be home well before then to avoid dying of heat stroke. Judging by the angle of the sun in your pictures, you took full advantage of the one day a month when cars are banned all day.
