Question about Sturmey-Archer 3 speed cable
A few years ago, I made the mistake of buying a Flying Pigeon bicycle and as it was heavy and slow, I haven’t gotten much use from it. Recently, I decided to make it useful by getting a rear wheel from a 1980 Raleigh Tourist and I plan to make the Flying Pigeon into a 3 speed. However, because it is a 28 inch bike, I presume the trigger shifter cable length will be longer than standard. Does anyone know the right size to get?

Flying Pigeon and Tourist should have similar cable lengths. Post WWII there were a slew of different sizes for mens' and womens' models but they got fast and loose with sizing as time went on.
I agree....tanks!

Cable (not housing) length of this repop is 65". If that's enough to fit your Pigeon, you should be able to cut the housing down to length and solder on a brass sleeve onto the cable, creating a replica of an original soldered Sturmey cable (a lot less fiddly than the clamp-on aftermarket alternative).
