Addiction 2021.2

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Exactly what I had for lunch yesterday, but mine were prepared by professionals.

Ha! I too like to sip while I'm cooking, as do many chefs . . . there's something instinctive about it. I prefer bourbon, and no earlier than 5. lol

Well, these days it's more like a five head, four eyes, and six pack gut.

Today's like Christmas for Mrs. Peel. New Dura Ace brake cables and housing. New Dura Ace EX non-aero brake levers to replace the non-original Dia Compes. New Dura Ace EX rear derailleur to replace the non-original Suntour. Paint for her chips, which I hope will be a good match.

Still waiting on the Kurust, on its way from Merry Olde, and the front wheel, somewhere between here and Warsaw.

He sometimes would grab the back of a riders' shorts and hook it over the saddle. Nasty.

On a club ride one of the women was dueling with a guy we didn't know up this 3 mile climb and he got ahead of her near the top. Prankster guy comes along and pushes her up to 20 mph, or so. and slams on his brakes just as she passes the guy she was racing.
Back in my racing days, I would deliberately put the rear mech into clatter mode or make the front derailleur cage rub while climbing just to piss off guys riding near. Also, I'd pick out a guy who was really huffing and puffing and start asking him every day questions. It's amazing how many guys would actually start answering why trying to breathe.

I still take a foot out while cornering occasionally and drag the cleat on the ground to make a scraping sound. Scares the **** out of newbies.

Two things on topic:

1. I had to true a wheel today. I've been hearing a pinging noise the last couple days and had a spoke backing out.

2. You guys have nothing on me. Homecoming 1967:
