Looking for some inspiration. I'd like to see some bikes built with 'lesser known' or at least in the american market, not as popular.

Did Ofmega make their own cranks or were they outsourced? So much to learn. I feel like a rookie.

That Chesini is a real beaut!

The only Gipiemme I have are the hubs on the wheels that came on my Opus III. These will finally be coming off sometime this winter as I found a "proper" set of Superbe Pro hubbed tubulars to put on it. The Gipiemme are pretty hubs though.

According to this, they manufactured their own, as well as rebranded for some bicycle companies, though Simplex may have made some of the derailleurs after ~1987 or so see here>

AFAIK, they made their own cranks, and rebranded their cranks for others, e.g. Avocet, Bianchi, etc.

Actually an 87 team compe.
I bought or rather traded for this bike new in 87. It originally had a pretty low end Suntour Indexed drive train.
It mostly sits on my winter trainer now.

I have black quill pedals by Ofmega, Gipiemme and Miche, and I can't tell any difference between them (or from a pair of black Campagnolos for that matter). I also bought a really cheap Gipiemme crankset pantographed for Moser, despite not owning a Moser, just because I thought they looked cool.

Also, just this morning, I discovered for the first time that FIR made a crankset. This guy is also selling a FIR bottom bracket to go along with it. Who knew?

I have a moser team bike from 1980, but its full super record. It stays the way it is, but moser did have a model or two with Gipiemme components.
i Didnt know about the FIR crankset either. Almost looks like campy chorus.

Great equipment all! I have never been a fan per se of Ofmega equipment other than their headsets and the Mistral but they have cool stuff...Modolo levers are often elegant in their chunkiness!

Galli stuff intrigues me. I saw a crank on eBay a while back that I had never seen before or since. It was in Romania, and I am kicking myself for not finding out more about it. 70s or 80s. I should have paid the fare.

It shifts beautifully. Only complaint are the “sealed” pulleys start chirping if the aren’t oiled frequently
