Replacement Hoods Suntour Superbe Levers

Hello, I am in need of some replacement hoods for the older non-aero levers.
will these work or is there another/better alternative?
Thanks for taking the time to answer.
Best, Ben

I used Rustines - the ones designed for Campy Record, which the bodies of Suntour Superbe mimic almost perfectly. The fit was great. There is a recent thread on where to find Rustines hoods.

Yes, little luck on Rustines some earlier threads mentioned Dia Comps but with different model numbers thus the questions about these....anyone used them?

I went with the Soma hoods based on the info in some other Bikeforums threads. I initially bought black Ristines but changed my mind and wanted tan hoods but couldn’t find tan Ristines so I went with Soma. They fit really well on Superbe levers.

edit: Rustines is the proper spelling and not Ristines as mentioned above

MomoMan,
Those look good, did you have to do any trimming on the bottom...ie does the bottom edge of the hood hit/stretch?
Best, Ben

I put the 202, 204 Hoods on my Superbe levers, for lack of anything better. Hard as hell to get on, extremely tight fit, Soma hoods obviously fit better, I’d go with those. I’ll be replacing mine shortly.

Now I know what to get the next time I want to bump a Soma order above the free shipping threshold. (I have a decade's supply of Newbaum's tape.)

Totally unrelated, but much appreciation here for what looks like having bikes all around the house. That's where they belong! No longer second-class citizens, they take their rightful place amongst us, where we live. No more cold/hot/damp garages! No more being squeezed between the water heater and other household hvac/plumbing stuff I don't understand at all! Standing tall on their own two wheels! FREEDOM! FREEDOM! FREEDOM!

Please note that I mean no disrespect towards mono-wheel or more-than-two multi-wheeled bicycles. My tent is large.

Well, it's either that, or we're looking at a _very_ well-appointed basement/man cave.

And either way, hearty applause from my basement.

No trimming at all. They fit perfectly. I haven’t tried my black Ristines on my Trek 760’s Superbe levers yet so I don’t know how well the Ristines fit but I’m happy with the fit of the Soma’s.

edit: Rustines is the proper spelling and not Ristines.

Yeah I got bikes all over the basement, like 14 total, not leaving them in the garage when the cars are dripping salt water. Wife’s OK, as long as it’s the basement.

Since I also have the Rustines I put it on another Superbe lever I just removed from a Specialized Allez SE I bought a few months ago that needs new hoods and bar tape. The Rustines fit almost as well as the Soma but not as well at the top above the lever. You can see about 1/8” of metal a move the lever. The Rustines cost much more than the Somas.

About 1/8” of metal shows above the lever.

Have you looked at the ones from Cane Creek. I think that's what I order for Dia Compe levers.

If you haven't purchased hoods yet check this out. Free shipping, no tax and on sale. I just purchased a set for a pair of Campy levers.
