1974 Motobecane/ need help to ID rear derailluer

I took on a refurbishing project for Eric, 70 something, down the street. He bought this bike in 1974 (he says that is close, but definitely before 1977). His friend owned the bike shop and upgraded it with Phil Wood hubs! I had to cut off the chain to remove it, and removed the rear derailleur. This was last year sometime. Put it on the back burner. Now I don't know what I did with the derailleur!! (it is probably in the pile of derailleurs I have in the shed, I hope to the heavens I didn't use it on another rebuild! ). Very very very careless of me.

Can you help me figure out what derailleur belongs on this bike? Suntour yes, but which one?

Thanks

Circa 19974 Centurioun Mirage

That's a Motobecane, not a Centurion.

Originally R/D was probably a Suntour VGT Luxe long cage.

Pretty much any suntour derailleur you have back in the shed would be appropriate on this bike. I wouldn't install a superbe or a cyclone but any of the other suntour RDs would be appropriate.

Love the combo of a steel cottered crank and Phil Wood hubs.

YES, I was really dumbfounded at the cottered cranks and Phil Woods! The owner rode it as transportation for about 2 years, then he was able to afford a car and didn't ride it much after that. I am trying to find the original that came off it and I don't remember what it was! While I have 4 or 5 Suntours, I would like, for the sake of the history, to put the original back on it. So that it is authentic for my friend Eric.

I caught the mistake but I couldn't change the thread title myself but a moderator changed it for me pretty quick.
I do indeed have only one Suntour VGT Luxe in the Suntour rear derailluer box. I thoughtfully taped the mount bolt to it. Many thanks Much Vintage Cyclist.

THAT is a beauty!
Thanks for sharing, and yes, it was indeed the V GT Lux. Found it in the box of Suntours... not that I have that many, but just wanted to get it right.
