A little teaser of a new purchase.
Just got it home and still need to clean, but here's a teaser shot. Any ideas?

Here's a couple more pics. I know Roger M (and anyone else watching Seattle CL last night) knows what it is.
Campagnolo semi-verical dropouts.
fastbacky
Pretty sure this will tip someone off

Colin Laing? Heart cutouts and bottom bracket treatment make me assume so. Do tell, show more!
e: as well as seat stay treatment, lug lining, and tubing choice.

I see a lot of holes. That can't be good.
Super Vitus 971 is nice, though.

We have a winner.
It's pretty scruffy, despite the ad saying otherwise. Lots of scratches. The dt shifters have slid AND been overtightened, causing some crimping. But hey, at least the seatpost and stem move. I'm just not going to have time to do much cleaning on it for a few days. So here are some as found pics.

Interestingly, I've yet to find a serial number on the frame. I had to do a quick headset repack to do a quick test ride around the block and found the fork has a serial, but nothing on the BB...

It seems to be a toss up as to what was recorded by Colin. I have seen half of the frames with serial numbers, and another half without. Some of the nice examples I’ve seen and owned have been without.

IIRC his son was active on this forum some time back and he has all his Dad's build records, he has been a wealth of generous knowledge-sharing. Anybody recall what his handle was?
EDIT: merziac has got it, see post below: selaing and I'm sure he will have some info to share if he chimes in.

I'm assuming this is an AZ frame, but wasn't sure.

That's worthy of a drool towel, just wait till you clean it. Another example of Britain's deep bench.

Very nice bike! You really should do something about the metal mites that are eating through the bottom bracket shell.
