I guess this proves there was some weird post-flu thing going on with my body last week. But I'm OK with being at 201.5. I had bounced back to 203.5 mid-week, so I'm happy to have dropped from that point by Saturday. It still amounts to a net loss of 11 pounds over the past 3 weeks, which is way more than I'd been losing lately. But having tasted sub-200, I'm even more motivated to get back there.
The coming week will be a bit of a challenge. I'll be in northern WI for 4 days with some old high school buds, doing snowmobiling stuff, away from exercise and, no doubt, sensible food. My regular weigh-in would be during that time, too, so my next weighing will be 2 weeks out.

Not safe for work
1-1-2011 290 lbs
2-28-2011 275 lbs
15 lb loss for the year so far!
Last week I increased my fitness each day from 30 minutes to 1hr. My fitness was mostly walking with some snow shovelling but I also joined a Couch to 5K program and that added extra walks on 3 days. The first day I speed walked around the indoor track for 2 km. The second day I managed to run 1/2 km in total from my 2 km of laps. But that earned me 2 large blisters on my heels because my @#$% running shoes are a bit loose on my heels and a nasty calf strain that took days to heal. The third day I walked around the track for 3 km but it was painful because of the muscle cramp.
This week I'm continuing with the 1hr of fitness a day, plus the Couch to 5K program, and adding strength training 3 times per week. I don't have a gym membership and the equipment at home is limited to a few hand weights, a yoga mat, and a balance ball so the strength training will be core exercises and those other contortions gym teachers love.

Bought into the whole Livestrong MyPlate website. Logging calorie intake and activity level over the past week certainly seemed to help. I missed my end of Feb goal of 235 by a pound but I will take it. End of March goal is to get into the 220s. With the weather getting warmer the daily activity level will only increase.

02/14 = 286.8
02/21 = 290.0 (OMG had a fantastic weekend with drinks and bad food...won't do that again)

I think week #8 must have been a fluke. Anyway, that's what the scale said and I weighed every day this week to watch it more closely. One thing that has affected my plans is I stopped taking my 20mg per day Lexapro a couple of weeks ago and the withdrawal has been bad. I decided to go cold turkey after googling the withdrawal symptons. Did I say bad? it has been very bad but I think I'm over the worst.

ARGH - I picked two of the pounds up that I lost last week overnight. In a fit of depression I just consumed a bag of cashews and a piece of chocolate. I was good this morning and put in my workout.
ARGH again - I picked up another 2 pounds! My only slip was eating the equivalent of 3 hershey kisses

Update: on 3/2 I weighed myself and I was down to 298!!!! Now this isn't my official weigh in day and I don't normally count mid-week weights, but I was really happy. I also weighed myself on two scales and one was 298 and the other 296, so I will just go with the higher of the two.
Lets hope the trend continues. I am really starting to see a difference. I even had a buddy at work today comment on how "thin" my face was looking. I haven't seen him in a few weeks so he said he could really tell.
