White on white background is tough to look at.
I actually dig that State 4130 road bike - looks cool! And a great bang for the buck. I know it has 'distasteful' features, but that's okay - I'm not well known for my refined tastes 'round these parts

Wow, I like that Raleigh!
This Creme Cycles ECHO Solo was posted in the Gios thread and is a great example. Inexpensive and, I'm sure, a bit on the heavy side, but that's not really the point. It meets nearly all of the criteria for a C&V style racing bike available brand new today. Only 1 size (55) and no shipping to the USA.

^^^^ Basso is close to C&V style, but needs non-aero rims, classic-style crankset and silver components. Bonus points for quill stem and lugged frame

If there was a real need to route a cable down the LH side of the top tube, you'd think that by now there would be available some clamps with 270 degrees between the bulge for the housing and the attachment bolts. I have not seen them yet, are they out there?

One would think that if modern made retro bikes can be priced so high, that done of that high pricing can influence real C&V bikes to be valued more than they are today. I guess that can be just wishful thinking.

Which brings up a good point: who IS the market for these new C&V style bikes? Is it us? Or is it the younger generation hipsters who are newly discovering these 'analog' bikes? The same younger generation who buy vintage film cameras, vinyl records, mechanical watches and VCRs because they're fascinated by things they never experienced new? If that's the case and there's a viable market, the authentic C&V bikes should go up in value.

Two different markets: (i) cheapskates like me/us who have been into C&V since the original bikes were new and who are primed to find fault with the reproductions, like Tolkien fanatics at showings of the three Hobbit movies, despite having no interest whatever in buying one of the new bikes, and (ii) those who have no problem paying for a more or less faithful recreation of a bike lusted after in youth.

I have a 2016 Masi.
Honestly I think its a great bike. I dare to call it vintage. It's a sticker on a China made bicycle. However the Chrome is great, the paint is great. It has a very harsh ride! LOL. This is my first and only "modern" Campy group and I'm impressed with it!

I hesitate to post this one. It's so close to what we're looking for but just not there However, the downtube shifters and crankset make it worthy of at least a glance. Of course, the flat bars are a 100% fail and would require immediate replacement (preferably into a trash can) along with proper brake levers. The straight fork? Well, let's just pretend it's not there. It would be easy enough to lose the fenders, so no big deal there I suppose.

The only traditional lugged frame that Marinoni currently makes is the SL model, available as a frame or a complete bike in 8 frame sizes and dozens of colour schemes. Their other steel frames are welded.

Yes! I'm so glad you posted this one! These made the rounds on the forum a couple years ago I think, and the one I remember was the Liotto '60. What a beautiful bike. I can't post pictures here from this computer for some reason, but what a looker. Any ideas on price from their website? If I wanted to get a 'new' classic bike, it would be the Liotto '60.
