Again - a little early due to business travel early tomorrow am...

11/29 = 236.0 lbs
12/06 = 229.5 lbs
12/13 = 229.0 lbs
12/20 = 228.5 lbs
12/27 = 232.0 lbs
01/03 = 228.5 lbs Mileage = 119.7
01/10 = 232.0 lbs Mileage = 58.63
01/17 = 226.5 lbs Mileage = 89.37
01/23 = 224.0 lbs Mileage = 57.96
01/31 = 224.0 lbs Mileage = 75.82
02/07 = 226.0 lbs Mileage = 69.31
02/14 = 224.5 lbs Mileage = 71.23, YTD Mileage = 542.02
02/21 = 223.5 lbs Mileage = 108.36, YTD Mileage = 650.38
02/28 = 220.0 lbs Mileage = 17.09, YTD Mileage = 667.47
03/07 = 217.5 lbs Mileage = 176.24, YTD Mileage = 843.71
03/14 = 218.5 lbs Mileage = 91.25, YTD Mileage = 934.96
03/21 = 215.0 lbs Mileage = 114.24, YTD Mileage = 1049.2
03/27 = 214.0 lbs Mileage = 0, YTC Mileage = 1049.2

Probably should have had at least one more pound gone, but those of you might remember the Red Flag Foods post and that I'd completely lost my mind with peanut butter this week (it's finally gone from the house); also had sushi last night - in and of itself not so bad, but the soy sauce leads to a bit of water retention.

Will be in The South all week, so this will be the first week all year that I will not be able to get on a bike. Sort of a bummer, but that's life, no? The good news is that it won't throw my annual mileage goal off at all.

No, it's no new training secret that let me shed 6 pounds in less than a week. Yesterday morning I got the dread Tummy Bug. I don't expect to have my weight this low next week....

Thanks. It definitely feels better to have done it under my own power, rather than at the whim of the flu bug, which is what happened a few weeks ago.

Looks like you had a pretty awesome week yourself!

11/xxx.x Out of town on vacation
12/201.6 3-28-11
Wow am I pleased with this. I been on vacation and what I do best on vacation is eat and eat and eat. We cooked out and dined out very often and what I love best while camping out is eating a bigggg breakfast and then take a long nap. My worst thing I do is when I get the urge to work out or go for a hard training ride, I lay down and wait till it passes. :-0 I did ride a bunch as we were in Charleston, SC but I only took our street bikes as riding around Charleston is done at a site seeing pace and always with my beautiful bride. See why I'm so excited about my weigh in this morning? Will double my efforts this week to try to break out of the 200's. Another thing is my waist is down to a feels good 36 from a veryyyy tight 38. that is what I'm most proud of. Loosing my very aero gut. And in case I have not already mentioned, and how could I forget to tell you, when I went for my annual physical, the doc took me off the last of my prescription meds. WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!! That included metoprolol, norvasc, lipitor, lexapro, and niacin. Also am no longer seeing a therapist who I have been seeing for 5 years for anxiety and mild depression. Most of this I credit to my biking but a great deal has to do with my retirement from a high pressure political job that I had for 32 years. If I had known I would be this good at it, I would have retired a long time ago.:-)
Sorry for so long, but thanks for listening.
Tony

With my heaviest weight being somewhere north of 435 lbs. back in the late summer of 2009, I've been working my way down since October of 2009.

1/3 = 280.0
1/10 = 273.4
1/17 = 272.2
1/24 = 271.8
1/31 = 269.6
2/7 = 265.4
2/14 = 271.8
2/21 = 272.0
2/28 = 271.8
3/7 = 262.6
3/14 = 267.0
3/21 = 265.4
3/28 = 263.8

I’m heading the right way. It seems like right now my body likes being this weight. It’s not a big deal, because every day I’m a leaner, meaner bulky bullet and being fit is more important than being skinny to me.

Lots of really good progress this week Congrats to all. Now if winter would finally give way we could explode into real biking. 3 days of real biking last week has killed my desire for the trainer

10 years ago when I retired from the Navy I weighed in at 230 pounds or so. Within 2 years of that, I maxxed at better than 315. I got down to 265 on the Atkin's Diet. But that doesn't help maintain.

11/11/2010, 303 lbs.
02/14/2011, 285 lbs.
02/21/2011, 283.5 lbs.
Skipped the 28th
03/07/2011, 283.5 lbs.
03/14/2011, 283 lbs.
03/21/2011, 282 lbs.

Lost confidence in my home scale. Scale at the gym weighs anywhere from 2-5 pounds over my home scale. So, will go with that scale.

03/26/2011, 285.6 lbs.

I know the feeling, I had the flu a month or so ago and dropped 12 pounds in 2 days! Put most of it back on but on the bright side it helped clear the body of all the crap! lol

You definitely won't see me complaining about this week, I'm pretty happy with it. I'm like you on the weigh ins, I weigh in on Sunday morning because that's my off day and I like to eat my junk food Sundays. Although, when I woke up this morning I still weighed in at 264.6! I didn't go crazy yesterday but I snacked on a few cookies and went out to Sonic for a hot dog, tots and some ched r bites. So to wake up this morning and see that I hadn't gained anything left me pretty excited for this week. I guess all this biking is starting to pay off and helping digest my food faster and more effective!

Ugggh, only 1lbs, but at least its in the right direction. The weekends keep killing me. I get bored just sitting around the house(weather has sucked) and then I go eat too much! Hopefully the weather will break sometime soon and I can get outside to do more activities on my free time.

11/xxx.x Out of town on vacation

Tony
Great work, Tony! All my doctor has been willing to do with my meds is remove the mild diuretic last fall. That still leaves me with a small dosage of diovan for hypertension and simvastatin for cholesterol. When I'm done I think he might reconsider the diovan, but I know he's hesitant to drop the statin, as he believes they can have other cardiovascular benefits besides cholesterol reduction, and heart disease runs in the family (as do diabetes and cancer, to a lesser extent).
