painting over powder coating

looking to restore a Mendiz lugged steel bike. I had it powder coating, but having an issue as the vinyl decal stickers on the top/seat/down tubes are pealing around the edges. In researching some of the threads, I discovered that adhesive doesn't stick to well to powder coat.
So, since the lettering is in very basic block font, and I have a template, I thought I could just paint the lettering on, but not sure what type of paint would be best. (Don't think I'll be using a brush btw). Thanks!

Where are you buying your Decals from? I have two PC Bikes and have had no problems with Decals pealing.

I used Rustoleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover with good results over powdercoat. It specifically says "bonds to plastic", but I don't know how much that matters. I scuffed the powdercoat with 400 before spraying.

I wonder if scuffing would help your decals stick. Or spraying clear down and sticking them over the clear.

I too had some vinyl decals custom made to apply over powder coating and had no problems with them.

An outfit called Reciclone in Barcelona. This is sort of a rare bird, so Mendiz decals are hard to come buy.

Also wipe down with rubbing alcohol, dilute detergent, or windex after scuffing.

BTW - My decals also stuck fine to the powdercoat after just wiping down with alcohol (no scuffing).

Had a frame powder coated & applied my own decals. Painter told me to scuff decal areas with a 3M Grey (extra fine) pad. After I finished, had him clear coat over the decals & it still looks fine years later. Don

Most common powder used is a polyester, so pick a compatible paint to apply over it.
