Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What are the differences between R8050 Shifter Di2 and R8070 Shifter Di2

Hi guys! New to the forum!
Buying some used shifters for my Disc Brake R8050 Ultegra bike. How can I make sure I'm buying R8070 Disc brake shifters as opposed to the R8050 rim brake shifters. Almost made that mistake online the other day and not trying to make that mistake with discounted used products. Thank you!

The best way is confirming the model number, which you already seem to know. If you're not buying from a shop, and the seller doesn't know the model number, ask if they're hydraulic.

To be honest, I'm not really sure why there's any confusion on this. Did you run in to a seller that didn't know what they were selling?

The subject of the thread (What are the differences between X and Y?) and the question asked in the OP (I have decided to buy Y, so how do I make sure I don't end up with X?) are incongruous.

He's probably just asking how to tell them apart by looking at them.
