Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wow! That SRAM looks like it was made for that C10 color scheme! Damn nice!

2 things:
-Are you comfortable with that stem & bar like that?
-Also, you could get those Arundels with "red" labels too (I believe). FYI.

And RK, be prepared for "cable stretch".
Probably after just 100 miles, it'll start to shift funny and you'll have to adjust them.

Well, not so much, I just have it set up that way until I can get my new stem and bars, I am way to stretched out the way it is and I need to switch to a 40cm bar

As for the labels, I dont really mind, though I should have done red I didnt really think of the "red" scheme until after the purchase.

Thats what I figured as I was riding seeing as I have not had the bike long enough nor have I fallen or anything for something bad to happen. Im, going to take it to the shop on monday to get it checked out, 40 cm bars and possible new stem as well as some red bar tape. Also I HATE THE SADDLE IT CAME WITH

I'll play.
This is my '09 CAAD9-5
Love this ride. The RS-10's are still going strong two years later although I'll admit I have been lusting after some new wheeeels.

Oh and what size is the original stem that comes on the CAAD 10... I have looked and cannot find it anywhere. My stem is not excessively long but I could use a slightly shorter stem.

yeaahhh now that I own a CAAD.... expect me on here quite often

Thanks for the kind words.
Man, I really didn't want to tally it all up. Sometimes I think it would've been easier (and cheaper) to just buy a new or a complete bike. But the joy of wrenching and the satisfaction is priceless.....plus I don't think you could've gotten a bike for the total price with the SRAM Force groupset. The brakeset alone was $326 shipped. So the grand total including the frame, was roughly $1300. Granted this is for a 9-10 year old Cannondale frame.

Anyone have a Caad9 frame/frameset in 50cm? Looking to trade my 52cm 2009 Caad9-5 frame for a similar one. Thanks!

If you have trouble finding one to trade, I know of a LBS that might have a complete CAAD9-7 bike for sale in that size for $750.

Bloody Gunners, not a clue! Heh heh.

Could it be the right crank arm clipping the cable from the front mech? I've had that before...

No, it was odd though today I rode on the trainer and did not hear the noise so now I am definitely not sure what it is

Loving the orange (it is orange, right?) tape!n Kinda reminds me of my alma mater. And now that the lovely black tape on my bike is missing a big chunk on one side... well, I might just feel compelled to copy you!

what's up with all the compacts...

read euro rule below.

31. Gearing shall be restricted to a titanium Campy Record 11-23 cassette with a ABSOLUTE MINIMUM of 42-53 up front. One must never be seen pedaling at a cadence greater than 90 rpm in order not to detract from one’s calm/smooth factor, or “Suplesse.” The use of 25-toothed cog is acceptable for severely mountainous training situations.

I was going to opt for a standard rather than a compact but then I figured, 1. I am not in need of a standard double right now and 2. I will eventually upgrade my crankset and at that point switch it to a standard
